quitting nicotine update (it’s not going well)

2023-11-12 00:25:03

emma prefers to share her thoughts with a microphone rather than a physical human being, so thank god she has a podcast. recorded from the comfort of her bed...and some other fun places, emma talks at length about whatever is on her mind every week. anything really does go on this podcast. sometimes philosophy, sometimes a random story from 10 years ago, sometimes advice, sometimes fun interviews, and sometimes nothing at all. you never know what you are going to get, but that’s what keeps it interesting. new episodes every thursday and sunday, video available only on spotify.

1Speaker 1
00:00.00 – 00:05.32

It is 11 30 p.m. As I'm recording this and let me tell you it is past my bedtime

00:05.90 – 00:09.70

Okay, I have been going to bed at promptly 9 30 p.m.

00:10.54 – 00:16.72

Every night this week and wow has it been amazing and refreshing but not tonight. No not tonight

00:16.72 – 00:19.74

Because tonight I'm feeling a little bit chatty

00:20.86 – 00:25.08

Yes, I'm feeling a little bit chatty. I'm in the mood to talk. I'm in the mood to hang out

00:25.08 – 00:27.56

I'm in the mood for a sleepover vibe

00:27.56 – 00:34.64

Except not really because I've never really liked sleepovers very much the older I get the more I warm up to sleepovers

00:34.64 – 00:37.32

But I used to be the kid that

00:37.32 – 00:44.98

Had to get picked up once all the other kids went to bed at a sleepover because I was like, well, I can't handle this

00:46.12 – 00:53.04

Psychologically, I can't handle this. I'm not exactly sure why but I can't handle this. I used to freak out at sleepovers

00:53.04 – 00:56.16

It was my worst nightmare. I was a very anxious child

00:56.16 – 01:03.40

But even now I don't love a sleepover, I just don't I think the reason why I don't like them now

01:04.12 – 01:09.90

Is less because I'm anxious and scared of being in a new place and it's more

01:11.90 – 01:12.78

the awkwardness

01:13.78 – 01:15.60

Around what time we go to bed

01:16.06 – 01:21.42

Like who stops talking first, like if it's a sleepover where everyone's sleeping in the same room, it's like, okay

01:21.42 – 01:25.80

When do we stop talking and just go to bed and a lot of times?

01:26.16 – 01:31.06

The talking goes on so late because nobody wants to be the one to be like, okay

01:31.06 – 01:37.12

We need to we need to go to bed now because it's not fun to be that person. Nobody wants to be that person

01:37.12 – 01:39.00

You know what I'm saying? So

01:39.64 – 01:44.96

Yeah, so anyway, I don't like sleepovers, but I'm in a sleepover mood. So we're up past my bedtime

01:45.62 – 01:51.36

So listen, I feel like I owe you an update on my nicotine quitting journey

01:51.36 – 01:58.90

Because I've made two episodes now about my journey and as far as you know, things are going great

01:58.90 – 02:00.60

They're not going phenomenal

02:01.32 – 02:02.62

But they're going great

02:02.62 – 02:08.78

Last time you heard I had gotten through the first few weeks of painful withdrawal

02:09.48 – 02:10.48

filled with

02:11.42 – 02:12.14

anxiety

02:12.84 – 02:13.48

depression

02:14.24 – 02:15.52

sleepless nights

02:16.32 – 02:17.72

too much sleeping

02:18.24 – 02:19.32

one or the other

02:20.04 – 02:22.94

Intense cravings mood swings

02:23.80 – 02:26.00

etc, etc, and

02:26.00 – 02:30.02

I had switched over from using a vape

02:30.02 – 02:36.84

to using nicotine pouches that had a lower amount of nicotine in them, so I was

02:36.84 – 02:39.36

Slowly, but surely tapering off

02:39.36 – 02:40.88

the nicotine

02:41.40 – 02:44.68

Using these nicotine pouches that I put in my mouth

02:45.24 – 02:47.16

so I

02:47.16 – 02:51.18

Have a really disappointing update for you. I mean, it's not going well

02:51.68 – 02:55.12

It's going terrible. In fact, I

02:55.12 – 03:02.50

Have a vape in my pocket right now. It's going that bad. I'm not proud to tell you this. I

03:02.50 – 03:06.82

Feel deeply ashamed and I'm not sure if I necessarily should

03:07.34 – 03:10.14

You know, I don't know if it's healthy to feel ashamed

03:11.20 – 03:13.44

Because I guess I'm doing my best

03:14.10 – 03:16.40

To quit and inspire others to quit

03:17.26 – 03:22.52

But I'm not leading by example very well right now. I'm not leading by example at all because I'm

03:23.46 – 03:30.06

Fully vaping again. Okay, I'm back and I'm not proud of it and I'm planning on quitting again

03:30.72 – 03:33.92

But I want to sort of tell you what happened

03:34.56 – 03:37.12

you know, I was doing so well and

03:38.34 – 03:40.48

Then boom, I'm back and I'm vaping again

03:40.48 – 03:46.76

I want to tell you how this happened so that we can both learn from it. So it all started

03:47.36 – 03:50.34

When I went through a little breakup

03:51.42 – 03:56.46

Just a little breakup. Oh not good. Oh that hurt listen

03:56.46 – 03:59.12

Whether you've been through a breakup or not

03:59.12 – 04:03.14

You know that that shit sucks. It just sucks

04:03.68 – 04:05.90

Even if it's the right thing to do

04:06.44 – 04:09.28

even if it was super civil and

04:10.24 – 04:11.36

Everyone's still

04:11.36 – 04:15.30

Cool with each other and it's the best-case scenario doesn't matter

04:15.30 – 04:16.52

Doesn't matter

04:17.20 – 04:19.32

still wreaks havoc on your brain and

04:21.12 – 04:22.56

I will say that I

04:23.20 – 04:25.06

Have been handling this situation

04:25.88 – 04:27.58

Way better than I anticipated

04:27.58 – 04:31.10

What I say, I'm like I'm slaying

04:31.88 – 04:34.30

Actually, yeah, I'm doing pretty well

04:34.88 – 04:38.60

For someone going through a breakup, you know, maybe like yeah

04:38.60 – 04:43.90

I'm doing well for somebody going through a breakup. I'm not doing well compared to like the average person

04:44.42 – 04:50.60

Going through a breakup is terrible. I think it hurts a little differently for everyone for me personally it

04:51.14 – 04:54.76

Sort of rocked my foundation a little bit. I

04:54.76 – 04:58.44

have a very small circle of people in my life and

05:00.18 – 05:07.08

Every single person in my little world are very significant to me and

05:09.10 – 05:10.60

Losing one of those people is

05:12.52 – 05:13.28

Catastrophic for me

05:14.22 – 05:15.40

It's a catastrophe

05:17.08 – 05:18.04

Not really

05:18.04 – 05:25.36

You know, we can get through anything right but it feels catastrophic and I also think I have a hard time

05:26.00 – 05:28.48

trusting people a little more just because I

05:29.66 – 05:34.06

Don't know in my industry. A lot of people are trying to use

05:35.04 – 05:40.98

You for things and it's hard to find somebody who just genuinely loves you and appreciates you for you

05:40.98 – 05:42.96

so I find that I have a

05:43.68 – 05:45.30

particularly challenging time

05:45.30 – 05:47.78

finding people who I can really trust

05:48.46 – 05:48.94

because

05:48.94 – 05:55.20

People see that you have a certain amount of Instagram followers and suddenly they think of you differently and I don't like that

05:55.20 – 06:00.22

I want to be held to the same standard as everyone else because I know that

06:00.86 – 06:02.20

Instagram followers or

06:02.96 – 06:05.20

Whatever it doesn't matter

06:05.76 – 06:07.86

But not everyone feels this way. So

06:07.86 – 06:09.94

Yeah, I tend to have a hard time

06:10.52 – 06:13.02

finding people that I trust and

06:13.02 – 06:19.92

It's a catastrophe for me when one of those people disappears out of my life

06:19.92 – 06:20.94

so

06:20.94 – 06:24.58

Even though I handled the breakup very well. I

06:24.58 – 06:25.36

still

06:25.92 – 06:27.50

Was a little bit of a mess

06:28.18 – 06:33.72

But whenever I'm going through a challenging time, my dad always tells me to make a plan make a plan

06:33.72 – 06:38.50

what are you gonna do to get through this and be stronger on the other side and

06:40.40 – 06:44.50

One of the things that I really wanted to do was

06:45.46 – 06:48.06

continue to be more social and

06:49.16 – 06:52.18

Continue to make more friends in a more intentional way

06:53.08 – 06:53.56

because

06:53.56 – 07:01.26

For a few years there I was very focused on being in a relationship and working on my career

07:01.26 – 07:04.24

And that was great and that made sense for the time

07:04.24 – 07:09.84

But it was definitely very isolating and I have no regrets because it was a crucial time for me

07:09.84 – 07:18.00

but it left me with as I mentioned earlier a very small circle of people in my life and

07:18.76 – 07:21.36

One of my priorities was like hey, let's

07:22.18 – 07:28.34

Broaden this circle. Let's open this circle up. Let's bring more people in let's have more people around

07:29.10 – 07:34.50

So I've been really utilizing my weekends. Okay, Friday Saturday

07:35.28 – 07:41.20

To go and be social like a normal fucking 22 year old something

07:41.20 – 07:47.42

I haven't really done very much yet. So I've been going out. I go to bars. I

07:47.42 – 07:48.36

Go to little parties

07:48.90 – 07:50.84

You know, I'm doing the thing

07:50.84 – 07:58.88

But I know, you know my limits like I'm not going too crazy. I'm being responsible in my opinion, you know, I drink

07:58.88 – 08:05.42

Very moderately a glass of wine at dinner. Maybe a tequila soda out at the bar call it a night

08:06.44 – 08:08.00

Sometimes no drink at all

08:08.62 – 08:13.96

Maybe I'm driving that night and then every once in a while. Maybe I'll have

08:14.88 – 08:18.50

Majority of a bottle of wine at dinner that's happened once or twice

08:19.08 – 08:22.96

But overall I'd say I'm pretty good. I don't do any drugs

08:23.50 – 08:31.18

Not for me though by some miracle. I'm staying up so late. I I have been staying out until like

08:32.12 – 08:37.88

Five in the morning some nights and whenever I tell people this they're like, okay, so you're on drugs

08:38.76 – 08:41.78

I'm not I don't know how I'm able to do it

08:41.78 – 08:48.32

But I'm able to push all night I think it's like excitement it's like this

08:49.28 – 08:49.76

weird

08:50.62 – 08:51.10

innocent

08:51.72 – 08:53.08

excitement that I have

08:53.08 – 08:55.22

to be out

08:55.22 – 09:00.88

You know because it's still kind of new for me when I moved to LA when I was 17

09:01.52 – 09:06.58

I didn't go to college. So I'm not going to frat parties. I'm not going to all these college parties and

09:07.66 – 09:11.60

The kids that I hung out with when I moved here didn't really like to party

09:12.26 – 09:12.70

and

09:13.16 – 09:19.28

Whenever I would get invited to a party, I don't know. I just wouldn't really participate. I didn't really feel like I fit in I felt

09:19.98 – 09:27.52

Like I wasn't supposed to be there because I wasn't I was very young but I don't know. I've never really been someone who

09:28.38 – 09:33.54

Consistently like went and hung out at bars or went to parties and it's good for me in

09:34.42 – 09:40.16

Most ways it's good for me socially. I've been meeting new friends meeting new people. It's been great

09:40.16 – 09:48.06

It's been really fun and exhilarating a little bit spooky, but overall exhilarating and fun. It's weirdly made me more

09:48.78 – 09:50.68

Focused and less burnt out

09:51.48 – 09:52.64

in a lot of ways

09:53.86 – 09:55.00

It's made me

09:56.50 – 10:02.02

Happier I like being around people in this phase of my life. I feel more extroverted in this phase of my life

10:02.02 – 10:05.82

So it's benefiting me there. Okay, so here's where it's not benefiting me

10:07.16 – 10:12.22

Everyone vapes it's just the times that we live in there are so many people vaping all the time and

10:13.20 – 10:15.08

I think this combination of me

10:15.60 – 10:20.28

Going through a breakup and then being around all these people vaping. I was doomed

10:20.28 – 10:25.12

I was doomed and it started with me hitting people's babes be like, oh

10:25.12 – 10:26.50

man, I

10:26.50 – 10:29.58

Wish I could hit that and then they're like just hit it and I'm like now

10:30.08 – 10:34.12

They're like, come on. I'm like fuck it. Okay, and

10:34.12 – 10:39.54

Every time I would do it. I'd be like damn it. That's so bad. Emma. You're so bad

10:40.22 – 10:41.46

You're really bad

10:41.46 – 10:42.98

Why would you do that?

10:43.38 – 10:49.48

But then it got really bad because I went out and I fucking bought myself one. I don't remember why I

10:50.24 – 10:51.82

Think I was having a really tough day

10:51.82 – 10:57.40

not about anything in particular, but just in general and I was feeling really down and

10:58.07 – 11:03.15

Just depressed almost and I was like fuck it. I don't care about anything

11:03.63 – 11:06.47

I'm just gonna go buy a vape. That'll make me feel better and

11:07.53 – 11:08.55

Then it's just been

11:09.67 – 11:15.85

Plateaued from there, you know, that's where I'm at. My emotional state has improved since that day

11:16.85 – 11:21.29

But nothing has changed. I'm continuing to vape when you're addicted to something

11:21.29 – 11:24.89

It's so easy to just make excuses for yourself that are completely invalid

11:24.89 – 11:31.13

I always have some sort of excuse for myself when I'm like, oh, I need to quit again. Like come on, Emma

11:31.13 – 11:31.83

What are you doing?

11:32.63 – 11:34.23

I'll think about it for a second. I'm like

11:35.31 – 11:42.15

But come on, like you just went through a really tough time with your love life. So it's totally okay or like

11:42.71 – 11:46.47

Well, everyone else is vaping. So it's like whatever it's fine

11:47.59 – 11:47.99

No

11:48.61 – 11:51.59

None of that is true. It's so crazy

11:51.59 – 11:55.71

How easy it is to convince yourself that what you're doing is fine when it's not and

11:56.61 – 12:01.39

I've been playing that silly little game in my head for the last few weeks because

12:02.35 – 12:03.95

My willpower is low

12:03.95 – 12:05.77

we have to

12:06.77 – 12:08.59

use willpower every day for

12:10.31 – 12:15.81

Various different things that we deal with in life. We have to use willpower to not

12:16.53 – 12:24.05

Say something rude to our teacher or to our boss. We have to use willpower to exercise. We have to use willpower to

12:25.67 – 12:29.53

Not go and text our ex or something. You know what I'm saying?

12:29.81 – 12:37.27

We're constantly using willpower and I don't know sometimes it can feel like you just don't have any left

12:37.27 – 12:43.63

Again, that's not a proper excuse either. But I think that that's how I've been feeling recently is like, oh my god

12:43.63 – 12:46.87

I'm using so much willpower and all these other areas of my life

12:46.87 – 12:52.39

I can't use it here, but I can I can and that's just another excuse

12:52.39 – 12:55.47

Okay, so I'm back. I'm back. I'm vaping

12:55.47 – 12:59.77

I'm not proud of it and I'm mortified to come on here and tell you this

12:59.77 – 13:07.63

but listen, I made the decision to involve the internet you listening on this journey with me and

13:07.85 – 13:10.89

I got to show you the good the bad and the ugly

13:10.89 – 13:16.29

I think it's been great to share this experience with the internet because it's held me accountable

13:16.29 – 13:20.45

To be honest, I probably would have gone back to vaping like a week after

13:21.21 – 13:27.17

Mentally deciding I was gonna quit had I not shared that I wanted to do this with the internet

13:27.17 – 13:31.53

But because I told everybody I was quitting every time I'd have an urge. I was like I can't

13:32.39 – 13:34.01

Go back and tell everyone

13:34.59 – 13:39.89

Never mind like that would destroy me. So it definitely held me accountable

13:40.65 – 13:41.19

but

13:41.97 – 13:45.15

It's also added a level of pressure

13:45.69 – 13:47.31

That is arguably

13:48.09 – 13:53.05

Not helpful. I don't know. I'm I can't decide and listen. This is something I did to myself

13:53.05 – 13:58.43

So none of you are putting pressure on me. I'm putting pressure on me

13:58.43 – 14:05.63

For you from you, does that make sense? Like you're not even putting pressure on me, but I'm just assuming that you are which is then

14:06.37 – 14:12.19

Causing me to feel pressure. I feel ten times more guilty about using the vape again

14:12.73 – 14:18.81

Because I shared it with the internet and I'm not sure what that says about me and the value that I put on

14:18.81 – 14:24.83

The opinions of the general internet. I mean I do respect

14:24.83 – 14:26.59

the people who

14:27.23 – 14:33.27

Listen to my podcast, so I guess it does make sense that I care about

14:34.67 – 14:38.75

Making the people who listen to my podcast proud

14:39.31 – 14:42.31

But at the same time it's an abstract

14:43.07 – 14:46.95

Group of people. I don't know but I feel ten times guiltier

14:47.55 – 14:52.15

about being back on the vape and arguably this is good because I

14:52.79 – 14:57.83

Should feel bad about it, you know, it's not something that I should be doing and

14:58.99 – 15:01.87

I know that I need to quit but that

15:03.11 – 15:04.67

shame and pressure

15:04.67 – 15:06.27

to do better

15:06.99 – 15:13.39

Can sometimes backfire in a weird way and and I've noticed that this has sort of happened with me in my subconscious

15:13.91 – 15:17.83

the guilt and shame and pressure that I'm feeling

15:18.63 – 15:24.79

Almost caused me to rebel and just be like well fuck it. I don't care. I'm just gonna keep doing it then because

15:25.41 – 15:28.07

the shame and pressure make me feel bad about myself and

15:28.71 – 15:31.97

When you feel bad about yourself, you have much less motivation to

15:31.97 – 15:38.83

Do something that requires a level of willpower. You just don't care. You don't value yourself enough

15:38.83 – 15:42.01

To do something challenging to benefit yourself

15:42.87 – 15:44.01

weirdly, I think

15:44.61 – 15:49.71

Keeping these sorts of journeys to yourself can be valuable

15:50.43 – 15:52.09

because you're able to

15:52.09 – 15:54.89

go on the journey on your own and

15:55.41 – 16:02.39

inevitably, you're gonna fuck up but instead of having to ask three other people or a hundred other people for

16:03.17 – 16:06.57

forgiveness when you fuck up you only have to ask yourself and

16:08.03 – 16:10.87

Arguably, that's easier and much better

16:10.87 – 16:13.03

But on the other hand

16:13.03 – 16:16.63

we can have a tendency to make excuses for ourselves and

16:17.29 – 16:22.43

So it can be really nice to have people holding you accountable. So I'm sort of torn

16:22.43 – 16:28.83

I have no regrets about sharing this journey with the internet, but I've noticed how it's impacted

16:29.39 – 16:34.59

the way I'm processing the situation the way that I'm handling this situation and

16:36.07 – 16:42.25

I'm just sharing that with you so that you can consider it if you ever need to quit something

16:43.03 – 16:50.23

Or change something about yourself and you're trying to decide whether or not to share that with others

16:50.23 – 16:54.59

I think it depends on you and it depends on the severity of the situation, you know

16:54.59 – 17:01.49

I think it's also really hard to share your journey with others because when you make a brief slip up

17:01.49 – 17:08.01

Instead of just leaving that in the past and doing better tomorrow. You might feel a pressure to

17:08.53 – 17:13.41

Tell everyone who knows about your journey that you made a slip up and that makes you

17:14.59 – 17:16.29

Relive your slip up more

17:17.17 – 17:22.79

Times than you may need to it can be a lot easier to slip up and then just say you know what?

17:22.99 – 17:24.31

Fuck it. That was a slip up

17:24.85 – 17:29.97

Let's move on. Let's just do better tomorrow. And if it's a journey that you're going on

17:30.53 – 17:31.97

personally in your own

17:32.59 – 17:33.33

mind and

17:34.31 – 17:36.03

Universe and no one else knows

17:36.51 – 17:41.47

And it doesn't matter if other people see you slip up or this or that because only you know

17:41.47 – 17:47.97

What your end goal is and there's nobody pointing out this or pointing out that and there's no one to update on

17:48.63 – 17:51.99

This fuck up or that fuck up. I don't know. I'm really

17:52.71 – 17:54.51

Conflicted on what the best

17:54.51 – 17:55.85

method is

17:56.47 – 17:57.85

Here's the moral of the story

17:58.63 – 18:03.11

This shit is not gonna be linear. It's not gonna be perfect

18:03.97 – 18:07.75

When there's something in your life that you know, you need to change

18:08.33 – 18:11.91

You can't expect that journey to be

18:12.49 – 18:17.51

Picture-perfect. There are gonna be bumps. They're gonna be big fuck-ups

18:17.51 – 18:19.79

They're gonna be small fuck-ups

18:20.37 – 18:22.37

there are gonna be epiphanies and

18:23.61 – 18:30.69

If you keep pushing and you keep trying and you don't give up and you don't let your self-esteem get destroyed over it

18:30.69 – 18:37.51

By remembering that you're human and this is just what happens when humans try to change things

18:38.11 – 18:43.17

Then eventually you'll succeed and I know for me. I know I'll quit

18:43.17 – 18:46.95

I know I will and some of you out there might have your doubts right now

18:46.95 – 18:51.73

And you know what I can handle that I can handle that because I know I will quit

18:51.73 – 18:58.73

It might be in a month and it might be in 20 years, but I will quit. No, it'll be sooner than 20 years

18:59.29 – 19:01.07

It might take a little longer than a month

19:01.51 – 19:08.81

I'm realizing that this is much more challenging than I initially thought. I really thought I'd be done by now and I'm not

19:09.27 – 19:16.89

This is going to be a journey, but I'm not gonna give up on myself and I'm not gonna let this

19:16.89 – 19:17.69

failure

19:18.49 – 19:21.71

Change the way I see myself. I'm still awesome

19:22.91 – 19:23.79

I'm still

19:25.49 – 19:26.37

tough and

19:28.23 – 19:29.19

Cool and

19:29.93 – 19:35.79

Eventually, I'll do this. But by the way, there are so many other things that I'm trying to change

19:37.27 – 19:39.51

Simultaneously, I think we can all relate to this

19:40.17 – 19:43.21

There's usually not just one thing that we want to change about ourselves

19:44.23 – 19:45.71

Yeah, I want to stop

19:46.33 – 19:48.91

using the vape, but I also

19:49.65 – 19:52.27

In managing my social media addiction

19:52.27 – 19:58.21

Listen, I know we're all sick of talking about it, but we all have social media addictions. Okay. Sorry

19:58.21 – 20:01.13

There might be a few of you out there who are different

20:01.83 – 20:07.39

But most of us do that's something that I'm constantly working on. I have

20:08.01 – 20:12.57

These phases where I'm really good in my relationship with social media is really healthy

20:12.57 – 20:16.35

And then I have phases where I just waste my life

20:16.87 – 20:18.81

On there for weeks

20:18.81 – 20:24.35

Just scrolling and looking. I'm also working on being less self-deprecating

20:24.95 – 20:27.95

For a long time. I didn't know why I was that way

20:27.95 – 20:34.61

Upon further reflection. I think it is a defense mechanism. I use

20:35.11 – 20:35.83

to

20:36.85 – 20:37.53

avoid

20:38.35 – 20:44.99

People saying mean things about me. Like I want to be the first one to say it it also

20:45.87 – 20:50.61

Lessens the possibility of embarrassment if I'm just constantly self-deprecating

20:51.69 – 20:56.51

Then I'm less likely to get embarrassed because again, I embarrass myself first

20:56.51 – 21:02.69

But I'm trying not to do that anymore because I don't think that that's good for my self-esteem

21:03.31 – 21:05.31

Or for those around me. It's not

21:05.97 – 21:10.41

Enjoyable for people to hear people don't like when I'm self-deprecating. They're like that's

21:10.41 – 21:16.05

Not nice don't say that about yourself and then I'm like, okay, but

21:16.05 – 21:20.85

That's my prerogative. I can say whatever I want about myself, but I also know what they mean

21:20.85 – 21:24.95

It's like it's uncomfortable when somebody's talking shit about themselves

21:25.49 – 21:26.45

too much

21:26.97 – 21:28.89

Yeah, a little self-deprecating

21:29.51 – 21:34.95

Jab here or there fun, but I've gone into a routine of

21:36.13 – 21:41.73

Constantly saying self-deprecating things about myself and that's just not pleasant to be around. So I'm working on that

21:42.37 – 21:45.65

You get my point here. We're all constantly working on

21:46.25 – 21:48.27

changing things about ourselves and

21:49.57 – 21:53.95

It is a long and bumpy road some of the changes that we try to make to ourselves

21:54.63 – 21:56.81

Take a lifetime, you know, we never

21:57.63 – 22:01.99

Fully reach a point that we're satisfied with and that's okay, too

22:01.99 – 22:05.33

But as long as you're going in the right direction

22:06.65 – 22:08.67

Vaguely and you keep doing your best

22:09.37 – 22:15.11

Everything's gonna be okay. I don't know when I'm gonna update you next about my nicotine quitting journey

22:15.71 – 22:19.11

I might update you in a month. I might update you in five years

22:19.11 – 22:21.17

But listen if you see me out

22:21.67 – 22:31.03

Hitting the vape you have the right to come up to me and say Emma put that thing down. I

22:31.53 – 22:33.97

Wish I had a better update for you. I really do

22:34.85 – 22:40.75

And I hope you're not too disappointed in me. You can be disappointed in me. Like that's fine. I can handle that

22:40.75 – 22:42.75

Just be kind of gentle

22:43.71 – 22:47.27

Anyway, my nicotine quitting update super disappointing edition

22:47.27 – 22:53.33

Yeah, not my proudest moment, but I don't know. I have a good feeling about 2024 for me

22:53.33 – 22:55.89

I feel like it's gonna be a year of

22:56.41 – 23:00.21

Cleansing my body of unwanted chemicals such as nicotine

23:01.03 – 23:08.49

Really finding myself again. I don't know when you're in your 20s. You're constantly losing yourself and then finding yourself again, right?

23:09.01 – 23:16.05

Isn't that what they all say? So, I don't know maybe 2024 will be a year of finding myself again. I'm also

23:17.67 – 23:18.63

expecting a

23:18.63 – 23:24.75

Really interesting style shift for myself. I feel like my clothing is gonna get more exciting for me, you know

23:24.75 – 23:29.63

I think it's gonna be one of those years where it's hot girl winter

23:30.15 – 23:36.45

Then it's hot girl spring then it's hot girl summer obviously then it's hot girl fall

23:36.45 – 23:40.59

So I'm like kind of feeling that trajectory coming through for me for 2024

23:41.59 – 23:44.33

Yeah, that's what I'm looking forward to

23:45.01 – 23:48.37

Just 2024 being my year. See this is honestly like

23:49.05 – 23:52.25

Actually me making an excuse for myself again me being like

23:52.99 – 23:58.99

2024 is my year. I'm gonna quit the vape. It'll be like such a hot year for me like that

23:59.63 – 24:03.73

Is me subconsciously saying I don't have to quit till 2024

24:04.69 – 24:09.79

Yeah, I still have a lot of work to do. All right. Well, listen, I love you all and I appreciate you all and

24:11.39 – 24:13.07
