00:25.22 – 00:38.24

Good afternoon, America, and welcome to the Dean's List. I'm Dean Bowen. You are listening to America Out Loud Talk Radio. We are happy to have you on board today. It is a glorious day in America.

00:39.26 – 01:01.24

It's a glorious day to be alive, and it's a glorious day to speak the truth. And that is what, that's our mission, my friends. Our mission is to speak the truth. And I don't think it's just my mission. I think it's all of our missions.

01:01.68 – 01:36.94

I think it's, I think it's come to this point that it's the mission of Americans, true, patriotic, God-loving, American-loving Americans. You know, there are some Americans that don't actually love America, and we would call them the un-Americans. As I said the other day, you can be un-American. You can't be un-Russian. You can't be un-British.

01:37.24 – 01:51.88

You can't be un-Italian. You can't be un-Mexican. But you can be un-American because America is built on a civic nationality rather than an ethnic nationality.

01:53.52 – 01:53.66

J.

01:53.66 – 02:16.36

D. Vance, the other night at the Republican convention, he gave a speech which I thought was very good, very good. And he said something in that speech that I've heard him say before, which is this. While it's true, America is an idea, he said it's actually more than that. It's a nation.

02:17.44 – 02:35.36

And that might seem obvious to us. Well, of course it's a nation. But in the context of his speech, he was saying not only is it a nation, but it's our homeland. It's our home. And it's something worth defending.

02:36.14 – 02:38.50

It's something worth fighting for.

02:40.08 – 02:50.22

I think it's both things. I think it is a nation and it is an idea. Other countries are just nations. They're not an idea. Russia is not an idea.

02:50.66 – 02:56.24

It's a nation. Italy is not an idea. It's a nation. Mexico is not an idea. It's a nation.

02:56.40 – 03:07.74

Canada, does that count as a nation? Can we count Canada? I mean, isn't that just a British extension? No, it's an actual nation. I mean, oh, because they have a prime minister?

03:07.74 – 03:17.22

Is that what we're calling him? Can we actually call him? Okay. All right. We're going to play it fair.

03:17.36 – 03:29.06

Canada is a nation. Just in everybody, in case you didn't know, Canada is a nation, but it's not an idea. where America is both. It is a nation. It is our home, but it's also an idea.

03:30.12 – 04:15.21

And therefore, you can be an American. And those who are un-American are those who don't support and or believe in and or pursue with reckless abandon this idea of freedom. Now, I guess you don't have to pursue it with reckless abandon, but you at least have to have this understanding and this awareness that here in America, we believe in freedom. And we believe in other things besides freedom, but we believe in freedom. Freedom is the foundation of which everything else springs from.

04:17.13 – 04:34.33

As I have delivered this statistic before, I think the stat says we are 4% of the population of the planet. 4% of the population is in America.

04:35.95 – 04:42.35

Yet we produce close to 90% of the inventions.

04:44.59 – 04:51.53

We produce a very large percentage of wealth. I have that number in front of me.

04:54.21 – 05:15.47

The food supply. here, we produce a large, and I wish I had that number. I don't have those numbers, but it is inconsistent. It's incongruent. It doesn't match or add up to the fact that we're only 4% of the planet, yet we produce an overabundance of other things.

05:16.47 – 05:50.93

We're able to do that because of freedom. Now, freedom, in our belief, to be an American, I think, a true American, I think the belief is that this freedom comes from God. I think you can be an American and not believe that freedom comes from God, not believe that these inalienable rights come from God. That's my opinion. My opinion, I would call someone un-American if they, which, what's that?

05:51.53 – 06:07.97

We have to call the entire Democrat Party un-American because they don't, well, some of them, it's true. Some of them do not believe that our rights come from God. And I've, yes, I have played that clip, the what's her face on, was she on CNN?

06:09.67 – 06:22.73

Maybe MSNBC. I don't remember her name, but she was incredulous that there are people that actually believe our rights don't come from government. She was filled with incredulity.

06:25.01 – 06:49.91

that there are those of us who have the audacity, we have the audacity to believe that our rights actually come from God. I mean, don't they know that God is dead? He doesn't exist. We all came from gorillas and whatever else, monkeys, apes, I don't know, you name it, a fish, we came from it. Well, I mean, to me, that's un-American.

06:51.13 – 06:55.83

That is an un-American statement. It's un-American belief. It's an un-American idea.

06:57.53 – 07:20.41

The declaration of independence, it gives us our foundation. And that foundation is how that all men are created equal. And we're endowed with our creator with certain inalienable rights. And among these, come on, you know the thing, among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. And he didn't stop there.

07:20.49 – 07:58.71

He said, it's the role, it's the job of government to protect these rights. And furthermore, he said, in order for the government to do this, to protect these rights, it has to do so by the consent of the government. I mean, these are foundational American principles. This is the great American experiment that we're still, that we're still seeing unfold. Our mission here in this great American experiment, our mission is to speak the truth.

08:00.33 – 08:14.03

And there is a group of people out there that are adamantly opposed to speaking the truth. It's their mission to speak lies. It's their mission to confuse.

08:15.57 – 08:17.55

It's not their mission to offer clarity.

08:19.57 – 08:48.67

And in my opinion, I guess, if you think of the word clarity, clear, the opposite of clear, I guess it's unclear, but I mean, it's not unclear. I mean, you know what I mean. The opposite of clear, I guess you could say visually would be foggy. For example, it's a clear day or it's a foggy day. Or you have a clear vision or your vision is blocked by something.

08:49.99 – 09:12.55

Mentally, I would say, the opposite of clarity is confusion. Your mind and your thoughts can be thinking clearly, or the opposite of that might be confusion. You're not thinking clearly, you're confused about a thing. And because of this confusion, you're unable to think clearly.

09:14.61 – 09:32.13

And it's this mental clarity that I think we have to have in direct opposition to certain among us, certain individuals, certain people of a particular political bent,

09:34.47 – 09:35.39

Democrats who,

09:36.97 – 09:58.41

again, it's not all Democrats. I feel like I have to offer that caveat. I mean, I paint with a large brush, and it's not all Democrats. It's those who are, maybe I shouldn't say Democrats, maybe I should just say evil, because there are Republicans that might attempt to confuse.

10:00.57 – 10:23.71

I think our objective needs to be that we offer clarity, that we speak the truth with clarity, and that we attempt at every turn to speak louder than those who would speak confusion. You know who's not the author of confusion, don't you? Who is not the author of confusion is God. God is not the author of confusion.

10:25.23 – 10:38.57

And you also know who is the father of lies, don't you? I mean, since we're talking biblically, it's a biblical reference that God is not the author of confusion. It's also a biblical reference.

10:40.19 – 10:49.15

When we talk about who the father of lies is, Jesus says, it is the devil. The devil is the father of lies. That is his language. His language is lies.

10:50.83 – 11:09.33

And there are those among us who would speak lies on purpose with the intent of confusing. So if God is not the author of confusion, then who might be the author of confusion, I ask? Well, could it be the father of lies? And the answer here would be yes. I'm going to answer it for you.

11:09.47 – 11:22.03

Yes. There is an evil that is afoot that would just love to confuse, just absolutely love to confuse.

11:23.55 – 11:45.91

And I think it's our objective here to speak the truth, in direct opposition to the confusion, in direct opposition to those who maybe are, that's what they want to do. They want to confuse the American people.

11:47.97 – 11:51.93

All right, here's an example. I don't know if you've seen this clip.

11:53.55 – 12:10.69

And I'm going to, I'm going to play it for you. It's one of these man about town clips. All right. It's one of these deals. And this guy is talking to people in California about the assassination attempt.

12:11.13 – 12:24.23

All right. I want you to listen to his question and to their response. And then we're going to talk about what it means to be confused. Let's take a listen.

12:27.77 – 12:31.55

Okay. Cancel, that. We don't have the clip. All right. I mean, that's fine.

12:31.63 – 12:44.57

We don't, we don't have to play it. I can paraphrase it for you. I can tell you what was happening on the clip. And here it is. This guy is in California and he's asking people about the assassination attempt.

12:45.73 – 13:14.99

And every single one of them, I mean, 99% of them are saying, you know, it just feels like it was rigged. It just, it feels like it was staged. You know, I mean, it just feels like, you know, and the guy with the microphone who's asking the question says, well, you know, wait a minute, you know, somebody died. People were injured. And the one guy says, yeah, that's nothing to Trump.

13:15.93 – 13:47.91

I mean, Trump's willing to go to that length in order to boost his polls. He's willing to go to that length in order to cast himself in a favorable image of strength. And the guy asking the question is just, he's dumbfounded. He's flabbergasted, discombobulated. He said, you mean to tell me you actually believe that Donald Trump would stage this under the risk of not only himself dying, but other people?

13:49.53 – 13:56.73

And the response was the same. Ah, yeah. I mean, of course, he, you know, of course he's going to do it.

13:58.41 – 14:00.85

And there's part of me here that just,

14:02.49 – 14:10.31

you know, it makes us, it makes me want to just stand up and scream and just say, what in the world, what are you thinking?

14:13.75 – 14:22.87

But I've, I think, calmly, I've come to this conclusion that you can't,

14:25.19 – 14:38.63

I don't want to use the word can't, because it just, it feels like all hope is thrown out the window. It's difficult to convince these types of individuals when all they consume is.

14:40.83 – 14:57.73

news centered on lies with the intent to confuse. I mean, that's it. Is it their fault? I mean, yes, it's their fault, but, you know, because they're the ones consuming the news and they're probably just people that would watch CNN and MSNBC.

14:59.67 – 15:04.05

And ultimately, you know, you have to go to the gatekeepers of the information.

15:07.13 – 15:45.83

But I don't think that, I think that our response, at least I'm going to speak for myself personally. I think my response has to be, you know, not to debate these people or not to tell them that they're wrong or get in their face, but is to speak the truth louder than what they're speaking the lies. And again, I don't mean speak the truth louder in volume. I don't mean to raise my voice over theirs and to talk over them and to drown them out. That's not the loudness I'm talking about.

15:45.91 – 16:05.07

And I don't, and I'm not even talking about getting in people's faces with, with volume. No, when I say we need to speak louder, we need to speak the truth louder than they speak the lies. I'm talking about clarity. I think we need to speak the truth with clarity.

16:06.59 – 16:11.35

Again, since we're, since we're throwing out Bible references here, the Bible says, speak the truth in love.

16:12.97 – 16:42.39

And I think that, that that is, that that can and should be synonymous to speak it with clarity, to be clear about what the truth is. Now, the example here that I'm giving is these people talking about the assassination of Trump. But it's not only that, it doesn't have to even be political to that extent. I think we have to speak the truth in all things. Now, this is a show about education.

16:43.67 – 16:52.75

And I've told you time and time again, that if you walk into a classroom and they're not speaking the truth, then they're not educating your child.

16:54.73 – 17:21.11

And in that sense, in that context, I think we, we as Americans, if we want to be true Americans, in my opinion, I think we have to be truthful in our speech. I think we have to embrace the virtues. Even if we just, you know, there are many virtues that we can talk about, but let's just talk about the four cardinal virtues.

17:23.49 – 17:34.87

Prudence, temperance, justice, and fortitude. Or if we wanted to use, you know, common language, you know, prudence is wisdom.

17:36.91 – 18:02.07

It's, you know, temperance is self-control. Justice is speaking the truth. And fortitude is having courage. I think this is the foundation of the country. It's these, and the reason they're called cardinal virtues is not, it doesn't have anything to do with the bird or anything to do with a Catholic priest.

18:02.07 – 18:18.19

hierarchy. Cardinal is a Latin word, and it just simply means hinge. You know, it's, it's the, it's the example of doors opening and closing on a, on a hinge. Everything hinges. Life hinges on these virtues.

18:18.69 – 18:27.63

That's why they're the cardinal virtues, because everything hinges on them. Everything hinges on, on approaching our days with, with wisdom, with prudence.

18:29.15 – 18:44.55

Everything hinges on self-control. I mean, how many times have, if you wanted to just lash out at somebody, but, but if you have the virtue of self-control, then you're able to reel that back in.

18:47.19 – 19:03.53

Justice, everything hinges on, on justice. And again, I've said this over and over and over. It's not, justice isn't in the context of us demanding it for ourselves. I demand justice. But that's not the context.

19:03.77 – 19:10.31

Justice is us demanding it from ourselves. It's not what we.

19:12.17 – 19:30.63

are going after, but we're trying to be. We're, we're trying to, to be justice. How do you be justice? Well, you be justice by, by being truthful, by being honest, just simply telling the truth about things, not, not lying about things.

19:33.69 – 20:19.03

And then fortitude, everything hinges on courage, on having the courage to stand up and do the right thing. Everything hinges on, on standing up and, and just having the courage to go out and get it done. I was talking to my neighbor the other day and he was commenting on, on, on Trump and Biden and the whole shebang. And, you know, he just said, I, I just, I just can't take it anymore. And he said, you know, number one, I don't, you have to be crazy to want to do this, because, you know, if you look at the side-by-side pictures of somebody, when they enter office on day one and when they leave after four years, he said, they've aged 20 years.

20:19.89 – 20:35.89

And I just, I just don't, that's not me. I'm, I'm, I'm out to, to, to look for myself. I'm out to look for myself and my family, and, you know, my, my community, you and our neighbors. I'll look out after you guys, but I'm not going to look out after the world. I don't want anything to do with government, because I don't want those burdens on me.

20:36.77 – 20:38.45

And okay, I mean, that's fair.

20:40.01 – 20:44.67

I don't, I don't think everybody is built to step into public office.

20:46.21 – 21:24.75

And, and, you know, but everybody, everybody is built to have courage and to do the right thing and, and to say the right thing and, and to think about the right things and to go after the right things. And I think in education, this is, this is a true education to me. This is an actual education where we are teaching people to, to go after the right things. I was in a Zoom call the other, the other night with other, other Christian educators.

21:26.71 – 22:02.05

And the, the one person who was speaking, said, you know, we, we live in a generation that they're not interested in doing hard things. This, this current generation, label it, call it whatever you want. The, the research shows, the statistic play out. And, you know, if you know any of them in your own life, you know, this to be a fact for the, for the majority of them. I wouldn't say this is all of them, but for the majority of them, they don't want to do hard things.

22:02.97 – 22:41.41

They're not interested in doing hard things. They all want, you know, for example, they want AI to do the work for them. You know, what they don't realize is, you know, telling AI to type something up for them, for example, and AI types something up, they're probably going to spend more time, more energy going through AI and making corrections and things that they want to, you know, change and add than had they just typed it themselves. But that requires, you know, initial thought. It requires thought to actually put some words to paper, and, you know, it's just easier.

22:41.53 – 23:00.59

We'll just have AI do it for us. Let's just have AI type in. I'll just, I'll go back through and I'll just edit it up. Or I'll, you know, I'll just look it over. But in our, in the conversation of this Zoom call, you know, at one point the topic was centered on this generation not wanting to do the hard things.

23:02.35 – 23:11.07

And the question is, you know, how do we get them to do the hard things? Well, I think the answer, it's not an easy one. I don't think there is one answer.

23:12.73 – 23:43.33

I think you've got to start while they're young and you've got to encourage them to do the hard things. I mean, I was having this conversation with a friend of mine. I'm not going to name any names here, because, you know, we were talking about his children and, you know, teaching them these values, teaching them that there is some merit in this. There is some true merit. There's some worthiness in going after hard things.

23:44.71 – 24:02.59

And I'm here to tell you that there is merit. There's actual education when you teach children, young children, elementary children, middle school, high school students, even college age, when you teach them a foundation of virtues.

24:04.31 – 24:29.17

And if you just start with the cardinals and then you throw in the theologicals, you know, faith, hope, and love, it gets even better. I mean, then you're just amplifying. And then you go after the intellectual virtues and you go after the moral virtues and you go after the civic virtues. And when you give children this type of education,

24:30.77 – 25:13.39

they are, you are setting them up for a life that, holy smokes, it's the sky's the limit. When you give them this foundation, when they have a foundation of virtues upon which they can, they can build their life. My friends, this is a true education. And this is why I love a classical education so much. You know, somebody asked me the other day, when, you know, I was talking to a parent, a prospective parent had called, and we're, you know, we're talking about a classical education.

25:13.79 – 25:39.05

And she knew somebody years ago that attended Waterbrook before we made the switch to full-on classical. And she said, we loved the school then, but, holy cow, after you, now that you've made the switch to classical, it just, it just makes us, you know, want even more to make sure that, you know, our kids are there.

25:40.83 – 25:55.85

And she said, what was it? You know, what, what caused you to make the switch? And I just, you know, I'm not going to get into it all here. I mean, it was, it was something, it was a direction that I always wanted to take the school in.

25:58.15 – 26:45.01

You know, but ultimately, you know, my answer was just simple that it's, it's, it's my genuine belief that when you are, when you're teaching kids academically upon a foundation of moral virtues and civic virtues, and theological virtues and intellectual virtues, you are giving them the tools to build a skyscraper that can outlast the storms, outlast the hurricanes and the tornadoes and the earthquakes of life. When you give them a true academic education built upon these virtues.

26:48.17 – 27:11.59

And I guess this, this takes me back to, to where I started here at the beginning of this segment. I see I'm up against the break, so I'm going to pause here. But I, I want to say this, it takes me back to the beginning that our mission here is to, to speak the truth with clarity. I think we've got to do that. And I think all of America needs to take up the mantle.

27:11.59 – 27:17.73

and let's speak the truth in clarity. Let's do it in clarity. All right. I'm up against the break. Let's pause here.

27:17.81 – 27:25.95

35:31.43 – 35:49.13

Oh, I just I love that product and it's not even I don't just take it. during, during flu season. I mean when Cindy and I are out and we're traveling by golly, Cofix Rx is with me. And then the stuff from the wellness company I take. I take the spike support.

36:17.73 – 36:29.39

so I, I started out today talking about just you know, my own mission in terms of speaking the truth with clarity.

36:31.53 – 36:51.57

It. I was just. I've just been been thinking really this week and I'm in a political mindset here. And what what got me thinking in this vein is I mean you can listen to the, to the democrats. I don't even want to say the democrats.

36:51.83 – 37:16.61

All right, you can listen to particular people, because it's not just the democrats. And I mean I have examples from, from democrats, but you get my point. Their objective. it feels like it's just to lie about something. And it I really started thinking through this when that man about how and that that man on the street interview asking people about the assassination of trump or the attempt.

37:17.59 – 37:32.65

And and all of them, for the most part I don't know it just just felt fake. It just felt rigged. It felt. and I just I'm just thinking, how can you, how can you have a conversation with these people. How can you?

37:32.65 – 37:55.51

you can't even have a debate with them. You can't even have a discussion with them because their their minds are so hell bent on. Donald Trump is so evil that he would rig and stage his his own assassination. And it doesn't matter that someone lost their life. I mean that's, and the one guy said, I mean I wouldn't put that past Trump.

37:57.27 – 38:13.67

But just to think about the stupidity of the statement, why would you rig assassination on yourself. I mean, are you going to put that much confidence in the sniper to hit you on the ear. Oh oh, that's what the guy said. That's what the guy with the mic said. And the guy with the, he didn't hit him on the ear.

38:14.03 – 38:22.39

I mean there was, you know, he didn't hit him on the ear. when they tackled him to the ground. They had blood packets that they put on his ear to make it look like it.

38:24.35 – 38:32.13

Oh yeah, yeah, you heard that, right. You, I wish we had the clip here. I mean you can find it. I promise you, I'm not going to. we're not going to take you.

38:32.13 – 38:36.27

find it. You want to find it. It's on the Internet. That's what he said.

38:38.45 – 38:54.99

And so I begin to think. All right. I mean if I guess you could scream at this guy and tell him he's a moron. You know, but there's no benefit in that. I mean there isn't any benefit in name calling.

38:56.83 – 39:15.79

The, the. the ultimate answer here is that we, as as Americans, have to have to speak the truth with clarity. We've got to. And, and we've got to be louder than the opposition, who is lying. And I don't mean louder in volume.

39:16.25 – 39:26.81

I mean louder in clarity. We have to be clear and consistent. All right. Here's an example. The other day, Biden gave this speech at the NAACP.

39:26.91 – 39:40.57

Rush used to call them the NAACP. The National Advancement for Liberal Colored People, NAACP, which is is accurate. Spot on. All right. I want you to listen to these statements here.

39:40.97 – 39:50.93

Listen to listen to Biden. And then we're going to. we're going to talk about it. You know clarity. We're going to talk about clarity versus confusion and lies versus the truth.

39:52.23 – 40:09.47

The pandemic was especially devastating to black communities. Oh, I know. And other countries, other communities of color. That economic crisis drove up black unemployment, decimated small black businesses. And you peacefully protested George Floyd's murder.

40:09.57 – 40:13.59

Donald Trump called for the National Guard to go after you. What the hell's the matter with this man?

40:15.33 – 40:27.39

No, I'm serious. Go figure. From a guy who spread the birth of the lie against Barack Obama, saying he wasn't born in America and he wasn't a U.S. citizen. He's serious.

40:28.19 – 40:33.65

He's talking about black communities being decimated by the pandemic.

40:35.45 – 40:54.29

And number one, he's pandering. He's pandering to an audience of liberal, black individuals pandering to them. And he's telling them this you know this, this pandemic decimated your community. Well, number one, it decimated everyone's community. The the.

40:54.29 – 41:02.21

the disease is colorblind, Joe Biden. You are not. But the disease is colorblind. All right. The virus is colorblind.

41:03.27 – 41:11.57

The virus doesn't know black from white. All right. So he's. and number one, he's. he's riling them up, race baiting, as you might say.

41:11.67 – 41:26.95

Number two, he said that that Donald Trump called the National Guard out on you, on your people, while you were peacefully protesting the death of George Floyd.

41:28.61 – 41:53.93

And so this is what I'm talking about. There is there's no truthfulness in that statement, because we know that the protests that took place during the summer of love after the death of George Floyd, there was not a single one that that an actual intelligent person would call peaceful. There is no such thing as a peaceful protest when you're throwing bricks.

41:56.35 – 42:17.09

into storefronts and literally burning down blocks, literally taking over sections of a city and renaming it. you know, Chaz or chop, or whatever your autonomous zone. kicking the police out. That's, that's not a peaceful protest.

42:18.97 – 42:49.15

And this is what I'm. this is what I'm talking about. I'm talking about standing up and speaking the truth with more clarity than they are able to to speak the lies. Now, obviously there isn't a reporter out here that's going to challenge him. There isn't someone in the audience here at this event that's going to challenge him.

42:49.79 – 42:54.53

They're all going to nod their heads and they're going to play along with the lie.

42:56.11 – 43:18.37

But, but you and I, those of us that are, are on the other side of the aisle. I just believe it's our, it's our objective to to speak clearly. And and you might not have a microphone, and that's fine. You don't have to have a microphone.

43:19.95 – 43:38.15

But you, you, wherever you are, wherever you're with and I say this all the time. Summertime is just a great time to do it, because while you're at your summer parties, you know Father's Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day is coming up.

43:40.41 – 43:50.15

You know, I guess we still got. we still got some time before Labor Day. I don't want to wish the summer away. I mean there's, there's. there's summertime, family parties happening all summer long.

43:51.23 – 44:09.39

You know what this is funny. Glenn Beck was, was talking about. I was listening to him the other day and he was talking about having his family over. And and he was he said I'm going to read the Declaration of Independence at some type of you know, Glenn Beck family reunion. I don't know something going on there.

44:09.43 – 44:16.71

But Glenn said I'm old enough. You know I'm. I'm like the old man. I can get away with this. And everyone's just gonna have to sit and endure it.

44:16.89 – 44:25.07

They're gonna have to listen. And we all might just take turns reading the Declaration. or maybe it was the Constitution. Maybe we're going to read the Constitution. I don't remember which one he was talking about.

44:26.09 – 44:29.29

I just thought that's hilarious. Number one. Number two is genius.

44:31.21 – 44:47.71

And maybe you don't want to go to that extent where you're passing out pocket copies of the Constitution and having group group readings. That's fine. You don't have to do that. But speak the truth with clarity. When it comes up.

44:47.71 – 44:54.91

speak it with clarity. And this is something that and I get it. I do. I get it. I am.

44:54.91 – 45:08.49

you know, personally I'm the type of person where I don't want to make waves. I don't want to. you know, at a family gathering, somebody says something I'm just going to probably, you know, not make. I don't want to. And this happened.

45:08.97 – 45:20.91

This happened recently. And here I am telling you what to do when I, you know, we're at the table at a gathering and you know, somebody said something.

45:23.47 – 45:37.85

I don't even I don't even want to be specific. I know people listen. But look, the bottom line is I didn't say anything. I didn't. And I probably you know, in that moment, should I have.

45:38.05 – 45:51.13

I should have. I should have spoke with with clarity. I should have spoke the truth with clarity. But in my mind I'm like I don't want to start a fight, because that's all I'm going to do. I'm just going to start a fight.

45:51.21 – 45:52.27

These guys know how I feel.

45:53.79 – 46:00.37

And you know. so that's fair. I get it. You know, maybe you don't want to start a fight. Maybe your family knows how you feel.

46:01.09 – 46:23.59

And maybe that's you know. that may or may not be the place. But that still doesn't mean that that we're not given opportunities to to voice our values, because we are all the time, every day. We are given opportunities to to voice our values. Speak out against things and speak out for things when they come up.

46:24.53 – 46:56.27

This I'm looking at this article yesterday. Actually this morning I was looking at it. Matt Walsh has this article on Daily Wire and it's called the deafening silence of academia and corporate America after the Trump assassination. And he, he, he compares the assassination, the assassination attempt, with Trump to the assassination attempt to to Reagan. And he's just talking about the way people responded.

46:58.43 – 47:24.91

He says when, when authorities arrested the man who shot and nearly killed Ronald Reagan in 1981, he asked them a question. He wanted to know whether the Academy Awards, which were scheduled to take place that same evening, would be delayed. All right, this is what what Hinckley said when, when they arrested him. All right, the Academy Awards were going to be that evening. and here he shoots Reagan.

47:25.01 – 47:26.17

He says are they going to be delayed.

47:28.51 – 47:37.13

That's what he was interested in. Now, ultimately, yes. the answer was yes. they were delayed. The Academy Awards, as Walsh says, were postponed for 24 hours.

47:38.69 – 48:24.61

Gregory Peck said the assassination attempt brought to mind the murders of the Kennedys, John Lennon and Martin Luther King. The producers of the awards called the shooting a tragedy. Meanwhile, during that, that same time period at the NCAA championship because this took place in March at one of the basketball games, 18,000 fans in Philadelphia held a moment of silence. This, this happened during, during Reagan's assassination attempt. When Reagan, Matt Walsh says, joked to his doctors by saying I hope you're all Republicans, his doctor, who was a liberal, famously, I might add, responded today we're all Republicans.

48:26.35 – 48:43.17

And Matt Walsh says here 43 years after the attempted assassination of Ronald Reagan, Donald Trump was nearly killed on live television and in the aftermath, as you've probably noticed, there's been no similar moment of national unity.

48:44.75 – 49:05.39

Entertainment venues aren't canceling events or holding a moment of silence. they're doing the opposite, in fact. A member of the gimmick rock band Tenacious D you know Jack Black's group and you've probably seen this on social media a member of of that group told the crowd that he wished the assassination had killed Trump.

49:07.39 – 49:27.89

And you've I'm sure you've seen that video. The New York Times published a full page spread claiming that Trump had betrayed America. CNN and ABC criticized Trump for using the word fight just moments after he was shot. Did you see that he told everyone to fight. How dare he tell us to fight.

49:29.65 – 49:45.99

Kara Swisher and David Plouffe, the former Obama campaign manager, made jokes about the assassination attempt on their podcast. Here's what they said. I almost cried watching the aftermath of the assassination attempt versus Trump.

49:48.49 – 50:19.51

You know they're just joking about it. And you know Walsh says you don't, you don't have this reaction to the presidential front runner nearly dying on national television just three days earlier. unless you're fine with it happening. There's no other explanation for any normal, well-adjusted person who doesn't wish death on their political enemies. Anyone who cares about the democratic system of government is still shaken by what happened on Saturday.

50:20.17 – 50:28.83

But not Kara Swisher, not David Plouffe. They don't care at all. And unfortunately you know Walsh is concluding that they're not alone.

50:33.13 – 50:57.79

And you know Biden coming out and you know just just a couple of days later and talking about how. you know how. how dare Trump. You know he he was going to call out the National Guard while you were peacefully protesting and then just begin to to spew lies. All right.

50:57.87 – 51:07.65

So we have this phenomenon here. We have the silence in entertainment about the assassination. We have the silence in academia.

51:09.19 – 51:13.55

But yet on the other side, you know, we have them just continuing to lie about stuff.

51:15.43 – 51:18.81

Here's what Christopher Ruffo had to say.

51:21.21 – 51:50.63

Ruffo said. elite universities published an endless number of statements on Black Lives Matter, climate change, Me Too, Stop Asian Hate, Ukraine, Hamas. But they couldn't be bothered about the attempted assassination of an American president. It was crickets. Not a single one of them had the courage to say anything about it.

51:50.97 – 51:56.61

Yet I mean they'll. they'll talk about. you know these other things.

51:58.67 – 52:16.37

And they're giving cues to their, I guess, minions. Don't talk about it. Don't, don't give it credibility. And this is where we come in. I think we've got to, we've got to be clear.

52:16.49 – 52:43.85

We've got to have clarity with the truth. And I talk about it happening in education, but I think it's got to happen in our everyday lives. I think that that we cannot be afraid to to to speak the truth. To speak the truth about our values. To speak the truth about what a great country we have.

52:44.57 – 53:06.03

I mean it. for me, it has been, it's been uplifting. It's been encouraging. While this week watching the Republican National Convention and listening to the the speeches. Because speech after speech after speech, it feels like the theme has been this is a great country.

53:07.65 – 53:21.25

And it's you know we can. we've got this beautiful foundation. We've got these wonderful founding documents that that lay out just a foundation for us that.

53:23.43 – 53:37.55

that's going to provide hope and direction and an opportunity. That was just the underlying theme. I mean in addition to the theme that Donald Trump is great. I mean because that's that's the point of the convention. Obviously, they're there to lift up their man.

53:38.39 – 53:54.97

And that's a given. But outside of that, the theme was kids. The country is fantastic. Now, if we continue with this current leadership, it's going to hell in a handbasket. But the country gives us.

53:54.97 – 54:10.63

it gives the world. It gives the world an opportunity to individuals in the world, an opportunity to go after their dreams, to excel, to achieve, to conquer.

54:12.27 – 54:53.31

And that's the beauty of it. That is the beauty of it. And you know I, as I talk about education, it becomes disheartening to to see educational leaders happy and content with the status quo, happy and content with students learning falsehoods about the history of America. Educational leaders are happy and content with students not really knowing how to read very well, not having, you know, high comprehension skills.

54:55.17 – 55:06.69

They're happy and content. They're happy and content, just to you know. get their paycheck. Now. I'm not really talking about teachers per se, because I don't think this pertains to teachers.

55:07.17 – 55:10.45

I'm talking about those in the educational leadership around.

55:11.97 – 55:32.07

I'm talking about, you know, those that would control the unions. I'm talking even about politicians that that devise legislation that is not beneficial for education at all whatsoever period. And in many cases it's destructive to education.

55:33.65 – 55:37.99

That's you know, and I, I just want us.

55:41.13 – 55:49.49

to. I want us to speak the truth about it. I want us to. you know, I guess I'm, I don't know. I don't know that.

55:49.49 – 55:51.51

I would call them call myself frustrated.

55:53.23 – 55:58.53

I think I there might be a little bit of frustration, maybe a lot of disappointment.

56:01.33 – 56:09.71

But you know, mostly I want people to know. I want people to know and understand that.

56:11.93 – 56:29.85

if you just take in a steady diet of falsehood from a media that's just spewing you lies, then you're just going to spit that back out again. And how do you get them to understand that. I don't know. Maybe you don't. Ultimately, I think what you do is you speak the truth with clarity.

56:30.93 – 56:42.03

You speak it louder than they're speaking the lies. That's the name of the game. That's that's what we're going after today. That's what I started with. And that's what we're going to end with.

56:42.77 – 56:57.59

And I I hope that America just everyday citizens. I hope that that's what we continue to do. I hope we embrace it, especially during this political season. I hope that's what we embrace. I hope that's what we go after.

56:58.91 – 57:15.35

I hope that's what we pursue. We're going to keep doing it here. We're going to keep going after that and pursuing that. And I am happy to have you along. I am happy that you, my friends, are along for the ride.

57:15.53 – 57:30.17

Being a part of the America Out Loud family this past year has just been fabulous. Oh, I love it. I just can't get enough of it. And I'm grateful. I'm grateful for all of you.
