Part of my take is sponsored by ADT. ADT knows a lot can happen in a second. One second you're happily single, and the next second you catch a glimpse of someone and you don't want to be. Maybe one second, you have a business idea that seems like a pipe dream, and the next you have an LLC and a dream come true.

[00:00:27.56 - 00:00:47.72]

And when it comes to your home, one second you feel safe and the next something goes wrong. But with ADT's 24-7 professional monitoring, you feel safe because when every second counts, count on ADT, visit AdT..com. Today. This podcast is brought to you by eHarmony, the dating app to find someone you can be yourself with.

[00:00:48.04 - 00:01:04.08]

Have you ever been on a date where it feels like the other person is speaking an entirely different language, not actually a different language? But it's like, you're both just completely not getting each other. I've been on a first date before with a woman that didn't like golf, she was a workaholic, she didn't like vacations.

[00:01:05.04 - 00:01:28.70]

And it was clear she didn't get my personality, and it showed finding someone who gets you is hard, right? That's because we're human and there's lots of different humans out there. That's why eHarmony helps you bring out your personality on your dating profile so you can meet someone you can be fully yourself with. After you've completed eHarmony's Compatibility quiz, you see personality-based similarities you share with potential matches.

[00:01:29.26 - 00:01:41.24]

When you match based on personality, you're already one step ahead when it comes to meeting someone who gets you. So if you're searching for someone you can be yourself with, I'd love for you to try eHarmony. Take their compatibility quiz to.

Speaker 3
[00:05:31.06 - 00:05:35.70]

And it is grit week. Yeah, baby, we're back. the best week of the year, yes.

[00:05:35.90 - 00:05:42.96]

Football is so back, too, like going to training camps and just smelling football, hearing, football hearing.

1
Speaker 1
[00:05:42.96 - 00:05:56.74]

Football, I think, is the best. It was so awesome being at Chargers training camp. Today. We have an awesome interview with Jim Harbaugh coming up. We also got to interview Ben Herbert, their strength and conditioning coach, which we'll release probably next week. But it is grit week.

[00:05:56.86 - 00:06:08.02]

It feels good to be back around football. We've got some awesome interviews coming this week for the Awls, some big time training camps we're going to and we all are dressed ridiculous.

3
Speaker 3
[00:06:08.48 - 00:06:15.26]

We are most of us, we're all dressed pretty ridiculous right now, everyone is.

[00:06:15.40 - 00:06:15.98]

I realized.

1
Speaker 1
[00:06:15.98 - 00:06:34.80]

The mistake we made, Uh, was so PFT was traveling all last week and we had the idea. He was like, I don't know what to do because I'm going to be traveling and I don't have no new clothes. And we came up with the very genius idea of, like, hey, let's just buy new clothes every day while we're out on grit week. Um, so I, I did this.

[00:06:35.00 - 00:06:44.56]

I don't know if Max also was in Europe, so he needed new clothes. I packed a single backpack. I love it. Hank maybe cheated a little.

[00:06:44.64 - 00:06:51.46]

He packed a full clothes, but he's wearing the the bought clothes by Huey today. It dawned on me, though.

3
Speaker 3
[00:06:51.60 - 00:06:59.06]

That they have full suitcases as well. Yeah, that's true. I have a suitcase, dirty clothes. I brought, just a backpack. Max's clothes smell like France right now.

[00:06:59.08 - 00:06:59.82]

You don't want that.

1
Speaker 1
[00:06:59.82 - 00:07:09.76]

Looking at us right now, though, it dawned on me that, um, this only hurts me. Max and Hank. It doesn't hurt PFT at all, cause he's just dressing like he always dresses.

3
Speaker 3
[00:07:10.00 - 00:07:32.66]

He has matched a thousand times better than he was earlier today. When he was wearing like a striped polo shorts, Oh hank, when I was wearing the part of my take branded polo shirt with the Blue Mountains, it's a great shirt. No, the outfit was horrible. You can, you can have a nice shirt and just like if the if, the if it doesn't match. Like you looked like a you got dressed in the dark. This is green shorts with a green shirt.

[00:07:32.82 - 00:07:44.78]

You look sick, I'm the first to admit. There's usually two days a week where I look like I accidentally dressed like a six year old. I'm going to, like kindergarten, basically, I look like Bryce Young walking into barstool.

[00:07:44.94 - 00:07:54.72]

I get it, that was, it was, it was my last, my last set of clothes that I had available. Actually, what's messed up is last night I set that out, I had two options of what to wear.

[00:07:54.80 - 00:08:01.80]

I was like, this is my better outfit, so I'll set this out for tomorrow. You went with your winner, I went with my better outfit, yeah.

[00:08:01.80 - 00:08:06.26]

The other was a A Limi from Motorhead t-shirt, pink shorts. So this?

1
Speaker 1
[00:08:06.26 - 00:08:15.26]

Was the winner? Either way. If we all walked down into it and, like, walked down and saw each other first thing in the morning, everyone would be like, What the fuck are you wearing, Max, what the fuck are you wearing?

[00:08:15.32 - 00:08:17.44]

Hank, what the fuck are you wearing, big cat? And everyone'd be like.

3
Speaker 3
[00:08:17.48 - 00:08:26.52]

Oh, Pft is dressed, I'm just wearing a John Cena shirt. I actually do own these shorts, I have these same shorts, but they're well, those are just normal, those are normal shorts.

1
Speaker 1
[00:08:28.40 - 00:08:41.20]

Between me, Big Cat and Hank versus BFT is insane. Max looks like I'm wearing I'm wearing a superbowl pants. you look like you're we're fine. I'm wearing a generic football jersey.

3
Speaker 3
[00:08:41.60 - 00:08:49.62]

I don't even know what this is. I actually like Max's outfit, he looks like, uh, looks like something that you would wear. You look like it. You look like a guy that runs a disco and scooby Doo.

[00:08:49.80 - 00:08:57.78]

It looks like a cop, he looks like a cop from the Seventies, like a movie about a cop from the Seventies. And they cut to a scene where they're having a barbecue. Yeah, he, no, and he, but he.

1
Speaker 1
[00:08:57.78 - 00:09:07.96]

Also looks like a guy who just was in Amsterdam and he was like, Oh, I'm back and I, I'm not doing this American dressing anymore. That's where you are. You look like a drug dealer in it, you look like a guy in Amsterdam.

[00:09:08.24 - 00:09:17.16]

It'd be like, Hey, five bucks, she'll give you the best night of your life. It looks like you're standing on the on the street corner, so Hughie's dressing us this.

3
Speaker 3
[00:09:17.16 - 00:09:38.56]

Is day one? So, um, the the nice thing about? I knew that when I walked out here. You guys were going to say, well, PFT doesn't look any any different than he normally does. It's better. Yeah, I look better, maybe, but um, the the thing that you don't notice here that I thought somebody would bring up, uh, is they got me a crop top shirt, but the crop top, it looks like a normal t-shirt on me?

[00:09:38.64 - 00:09:46.96]

And I thought that you guys would would bring that up. Yeah, uh, but fortunately, uh, I guess just my normal, ridiculous look covered up for the fact that I'm short.

1
Speaker 1
[00:09:47.16 - 00:10:00.86]

And we're going back to Chargers Camp tomorrow for another interview. Dressed like this, Rep. and John. And we have some other big interviews coming up that we're going to be equally as ridiculous. Who do you? I stand out the most in in in my outfit, for sure, correct?

3
Speaker 3
[00:10:01.92 - 00:10:06.20]

Yeah, I mean, Hank does have child pornography. I'm wearing a football jersey, what are you?

1
Speaker 1
[00:10:06.20 - 00:10:12.34]

Talking about it's football, you're a football guy, you're wearing a NASCAR event. Well, the top half of me does the bottom half.

[00:10:12.40 - 00:10:14.56]

I don't know what I am, PFT said. I'm wearing a bell.

3
Speaker 3
[00:10:14.56 - 00:10:19.02]

Bottom. I just said that I woke up late and had to run out to the RV and like, Yeah, you, you just.

1
Speaker 1
[00:10:19.24 - 00:10:24.22]

Yeah, you just woke you up. You were just like, Oh man, I'm a little groggy, this is what I wear.

3
Speaker 3
[00:10:24.22 - 00:10:30.98]

Where am I snoopy? This is what I wear to eat breakfast and then I got changed for the day that is on brand for Hank.

[00:10:31.06 - 00:10:32.56]

Hank looks like he's still in bed right now.

1
Speaker 1
[00:10:34.04 - 00:10:38.08]

Do you want to hear the funny Hank story? I do more than anything, you want to hear it.

3
Speaker 3
[00:10:38.40 - 00:10:42.16]

Yeah, no, this is a funny hank story. I want to hear the funny hank story.

1
Speaker 1
[00:10:42.48 - 00:10:45.98]

And we'll talk about sports in a second. Can I tell you a funny hank story? This is vintage.

3
Speaker 3
[00:10:46.26 - 00:10:50.48]

This is going to be vintage. I don't, I don't want you interrupting, trying to gaslight the.

1
Speaker 1
[00:10:50.48 - 00:10:55.58]

Audience I want to hear what actually happened. You stop me when I'm wrong. I'm on Hank's side for this. You stop me when I'm wrong.

[00:10:55.68 - 00:11:03.08]

But it's just funny coming from Hank, but I'm on Hank's side just to set the stage, so I'll set the stage with like, this is what we do all the time. Okay, all right.

[00:11:03.18 - 00:11:13.00]

All right, the timing of it was very fun. Tell the story The timing of it was very funny. So, uh, we last week was vacation.

[00:11:13.52 - 00:11:21.24]

Hank just got back from vacation, and the week before, Hank just got back from vacation on Thursday, Saturday, Saturday, he text flew.

3
Speaker 3
[00:11:21.24 - 00:11:25.22]

Saturday, Saturday night, we're lying. I'll tell the story. Sorry you hank, text me.

[00:11:29.10 - 00:11:29.46]

I'm.

1
Speaker 1
[00:11:29.46 - 00:11:38.54]

Work trip I'm pulling up to O'Hare and I get a text from Hank and he goes, I want to get ahead of something I'm really hating. I'm really, I'm really drunk right now.

[00:11:40.68 - 00:11:45.82]

It's like, 6 p.m. He's just like, I just want to get ahead of this, I'm really drunk right now. I was like, I don't care, whatever.

[00:11:45.96 - 00:12:02.56]

So then he shows up, we're about to board, he walks up again. We had just got off vacation. First thing, he says to me, he goes, Not very, very. Yeah. It was pretty much the first. Not long after it was, it was like, Hey, what's up? how are you feeling?

[00:12:03.22 - 00:12:08.04]

And then he said this, he said. I was looking at Christmas week and how many days.

[00:12:09.74 - 00:12:11.96]

I was thinking about the show schedule.

[00:12:14.82 - 00:12:22.80]

That was the first thing he pulled up his calendar. He's like, look at the Christmas week. I was just like, we just got done with the vacation. What are you planning, Hank Yellow trip?

3
Speaker 3
[00:12:23.02 - 00:12:34.92]

No, I mean, I was literally sitting at my house on Saturday, doing nothing. Just wondering about Christmas vacation, looking at the calendar, I'm just curious, looking at the calendar. And again, like part of obviously, I do love vacations, I'm a huge vacation sporter.

[00:12:35.04 - 00:12:50.92]

That is, you know, a vacation week. But I was thinking about the show. And like, you know, obviously, depending on when Christmas and New Year's is how we do, the shows differentiates. Because I understand. So I was just looking at, I was, I was throwing out ideas, cause there's a world where we could get.

1
Speaker 1
[00:12:50.92 - 00:12:54.98]

Two weeks, Yeah, it was like, it's the perfect Christmas. uh, New Year's, we get two weeks off.

3
Speaker 3
[00:12:55.06 - 00:13:07.28]

That is sweet, I'll I'll get Hank's back on this. When you're when you're in school as a kid, and you see that Christmas and New Year's lines up magically, where you get mad magically, that's the differences. We're not in elementary school, right?

[00:13:07.46 - 00:13:09.48]

And football's our job. Yeah, and there's.

1
Speaker 1
[00:13:09.48 - 00:13:13.78]

A lot of football being played in those two weeks, including the entire college football playoffs.

3
Speaker 3
[00:13:13.86 - 00:13:18.02]

There's Christmas Day, I had it, I had it all planned out and Big Cat won't even let me get.

1
Speaker 1
[00:13:18.12 - 00:13:22.18]

You know, get, get out my work, cause I was like, it's it goes through two Sundays.

3
Speaker 3
[00:13:23.62 - 00:13:27.44]

I wasn't saying we're taking those weeks off. There's a world where we record Sunday.

1
Speaker 1
[00:13:28.14 - 00:13:38.54]

I'm not going to get excited, I'm looking at it now. We always have to record on New Year's or on Christmas Eve and Christmas, which sucks that we have to, like, do that this year.

[00:13:39.08 - 00:13:45.48]

We don't have to do. I don't like there isn't going to be Christmas Eve Games, right? There's gonna be Christmas Day Games, yeah, but that's a Wednesday, yeah.

[00:13:45.86 - 00:13:55.26]

So we would record on Thursday, we'll record on Thursday. Like that does rock and I'm on on. But again, on your side of like, Hank was trying to get two weeks off. We're in the first week of August.

[00:13:55.26 - 00:13:56.02]

And he's just like.

3
Speaker 3
[00:13:56.02 - 00:14:03.96]

I've been looking at the Christmas schedule, it's also very fitting. The start of grit Week, the hardest working week of the year, he comes in hot with planning a vacation.

1
Speaker 1
[00:14:04.58 - 00:14:04.98]

Yeah.

[00:14:07.14 - 00:14:18.66]

Oh, you're going to do that. Go ahead, be franny Leiden for a second. This is our second grit week in L.A. that we've done. So we, yeah, I'm sure there'll be people be like, why didn't you go to the Rust belt again?

[00:14:18.66 - 00:14:35.32]

Although there was a lot of people who were mad that we did Buffalo and Detroit last year again. Uh, we go where the interviews take us. It's like, if you build it, they will come. And we are going to three different training camps and have six unbelievable interviews coming. So that's what we're doing.

[00:14:35.38 - 00:14:45.96]

And and we also are going to find ways. What's grittier than the Pacific Ocean? Nothing, maybe there's a lot of things, but we're going to try to surf tomorrow and I'm very worried about that, yeah.

[00:14:45.96 - 00:14:46.22]

That's.

3
Speaker 3
[00:14:46.22 - 00:14:50.06]

Where the Mariana trench is lowest pad level on Earth? Yeah, we asked Huey if he knows how to.

1
Speaker 1
[00:14:50.06 - 00:15:01.90]

Swim, and he said, I haven't drowned yet. Yeah, shout out Huey. I've swam, uh, within seven to eight years ago, within the last seven or eight years, in a pool and a controlled environment.

3
Speaker 3
[00:15:01.92 - 00:15:09.54]

I'm good, this is the Pacific Ocean, so we said, here we do know how to swim. And he goes, I think, so, yeah.

[00:15:09.54 - 00:15:16.02]

Which is not not the ideal answer. I mean, I want to, we gotta get. We're going to get you in floaties tomorrow in the ocean, either way, people there.

1
Speaker 1
[00:15:16.02 - 00:15:25.82]

There'll be haters for anything. I can just trust us that we have some awesome interviews and we've also been on an awesome interview. Kick forever. We were going through the takings, I went.

3
Speaker 3
[00:15:25.82 - 00:15:39.28]

Through. I was going through like episodes to think of stuff that happened last year, and I went through our last summer episodes. And we were. We were just scratching and clawing for anything. Yes, yes, no, I know.

[00:15:39.32 - 00:15:47.94]

I, it's just. It was funny when I, you know, I, you didn't think about it. But I was looking back and I was like, Oh, wow. Like, if you compared last summer's guests to this summer's, it's right, yeah, yeah, it's way different.

[00:15:48.12 - 00:15:55.36]

It's crazy, big guy. You do look funny though. you you, you look like a cop, like showing up a undercover and ICP. No, I'm a.

1
Speaker 1
[00:15:55.44 - 00:16:13.18]

I'm a cop at Alpine Valley, where there's just all the undercover cops go. I'm just I'm at a fish concert, being like, Hey, you guys got cool balls? Yeah, uh, we should say, by the way, Uh, we need a an AWS house for hard knocks, so Tuesday night is the premiere of Hard Knocks Bears Hard Knocks.

[00:16:13.24 - 00:16:25.16]

I'm very excited. Uh, awl. Costa Mesa, give us costa mesa, that's where we'll be in that approximate area. So where are they going to? who are they going to contact? Huey?

[00:16:25.54 - 00:16:29.52]

I don't know about that, who, who, who are they going to reach out to? I think it's gotta be.

3
Speaker 3
[00:16:29.58 - 00:16:39.90]

It's gotta be huey, impress huey. Our usual criteria is if it's a, it's always better if it's a couple. Yup, we need a male, female, male, female or male, male or male, male, female or female.

[00:16:40.08 - 00:16:44.02]

Oh, hank, yeah, I get freaky. Oh baby, okay.

[00:16:44.24 - 00:16:48.44]

How many extra do we need? Hank? I said, male, male first, Yeah, that's true, yeah.

[00:16:48.82 - 00:16:56.94]

Uh, yeah, we, we. We'd like it to be a couple, generally less creepy that way. Um, and preferably a dog. yeah, dog, so there it is.

[00:16:56.96 - 00:17:06.64]

Those are our criteria, or we would we would make an exception. If. Rebecca Romaine Stamos, excuse me, Rebecca Romaine O'Connell, Yes, uh, wanted us at her place. Yeah, so it include a picture of your.

1
Speaker 1
[00:17:06.64 - 00:17:18.72]

Watch set up because that will take out a few people who just don't follow directions. The the email is, p, Yeah, go ahead, PMT hard knocks at gmail.com, okay?

[00:17:18.72 - 00:17:21.30]

So PMT hard knocks at Gmail.

[00:17:21.30 - 00:17:42.46]

Com Coast to Mesa Area, We W. We want to come to your house and watch hard knocks on Tuesday night. It's one of our favorite things to do every week, it's awesome. Remember the time we went to, um, a house in Milwaukee? And the girl was a big fan? And her boyfriend was like, Who are these dudes that are invited into our house?

[00:17:42.74 - 00:17:48.98]

That was wild, yeah. She was like, I'm a huge fan and the guy was like, didn't want anything to do with the guard. I'll be upstairs.

[00:17:50.18 - 00:17:51.80]

It was crazy, it was.

3
Speaker 3
[00:17:51.80 - 00:17:55.90]

Crazy, and for some reason, she asked us to show up. Just bring in a bunch of pineapples, yeah.

1
Speaker 1
[00:17:55.90 - 00:18:03.34]

It was really strange. Yeah, uh, so uh, guy, girl or hank would like to fuck girl, girl.

3
Speaker 3
[00:18:03.98 - 00:18:08.80]

Uh, no fucking. no fucking first. yeah, yeah, guy, guy's his first choice.

[00:18:08.92 - 00:18:09.52]

You did, the guy.

1
Speaker 1
[00:18:09.62 - 00:18:14.26]

Guy Well, I wasn't trying to make your choices, rank your choices.

3
Speaker 3
[00:18:16.98 - 00:18:22.68]

Rank your choices You look like you're doing math right now, just say it, you're counting holes. rank your choice.

[00:18:23.08 - 00:18:29.48]

Guy guy would be honestly hilarious. it would be very funny. Girl girl would also be hilarious. yes, and then guy, girl.

[00:18:29.64 - 00:18:33.94]

Okay, okay, okay, and dog, we want a dog, we'd like a dog.

[00:18:34.10 - 00:18:38.22]

Guy, girl, guy. No, that's, that's not that. that never works.

1
Speaker 1
[00:18:38.44 - 00:18:47.18]

Yeah, okay, uh, what about? uh, all right? So yeah, Tuesday night we're going to watch Coast to Mesa area, we'll be down there.

[00:18:47.52 - 00:18:53.40]

Uh, we'll bring the bus, it's going to be great. What else do we have? Grit week is we're ready to go, it's upon us.

[00:18:53.54 - 00:18:54.62]

Chargers training camp was awesome.

3
Speaker 3
[00:18:54.76 - 00:19:01.24]

Today we did. We'd be remiss if we didn't say how nice the facility was, the building. We interviewed the building today. Yup.

[00:19:01.30 - 00:19:04.20]

I think that building is worth five wins, at least just on.

1
Speaker 1
[00:19:04.20 - 00:19:13.38]

Building alone for the chargers. Yup, we got our neck strength tested by a coach, Ben Herbert. Yeah, and uh, yeah, I got the strongest neck out of the three of us.

[00:19:13.42 - 00:19:18.32]

Yeah, no, great, great, strong, big cat, great neck, great neck.

[00:19:18.74 - 00:19:20.72]

Uh, I think he thought we were all pussies.

3
Speaker 3
[00:19:20.94 - 00:19:24.92]

Yeah, of course, of course. Well, we are. Yeah, well, yeah, that's true as well.

[00:19:25.04 - 00:19:25.50]

Uh, all right.

1
Speaker 1
[00:19:25.50 - 00:19:30.54]

Let's talk some sports, should talk, some sports, start some Olympics, let's talk Olympics.

[00:19:30.64 - 00:19:36.08]

Where do we want to start? What a hundred meter dash, a hundred meter dash, a hundred a hundred yard.

[00:19:36.22 - 00:19:44.26]

No. A hundred meter, a hundred meter, a hundred meter. Noah Lyles with painted fingernails. Could it be the Year of Painted Fingernails?

[00:19:44.76 - 00:19:46.20]

U.H. wins by 0.

[00:19:46.20 - 00:20:04.18]

05 of a second. We all watched it and we still don't really understand. We're like, this looks like the Jamaican guy wanting the. The announcer said that as well, completely ruined the moment. Uh, by saying In Jamaican, Jamaica, the Jamaican takes it. Uh, but no. Lyles backed it up, cause he was talking a lot of shit.

3
Speaker 3
[00:20:04.42 - 00:20:12.40]

He was talking a lot this week. If that Jamaican guy had been a French pole vaulter, he would have, yes. That's how close it was. It was. His head crossed the line.

[00:20:12.64 - 00:20:13.62]

I think it was 0.

[00:20:13.62 - 00:20:15.50]

0005.

[00:20:15.68 - 00:20:21.72]

It was a period of time that doesn't exist. Yes, ahead of the Jamaican guy, and, uh, yeah, I guess no.

[00:20:21.72 - 00:20:29.32]

Lyle's big like Anime guy, he's big Ugo guy. Yeah, he's. he's. He called his shot, too.

1
Speaker 1
[00:20:29.36 - 00:20:45.70]

Because he was, there was a big deal. He, uh, finished second in his first, in the first, like quarterfinals or whatever it was, and he and he finished. He was like 12th overall. Ran real slow over 10 10 seconds and everyone was just bashing him. Being like, this guy sucks.

[00:20:45.70 - 00:20:58.86]

Now he even said, he's like, Yeah, it's the Olympics, everyone's going to give me my best shot. I should probably run a little harder. And then he went and won the a hundred meters. And USA's on top in gold medals, I think, and total medals, we just dominate.

3
Speaker 3
[00:20:58.86 - 00:21:18.76]

Tied with China for gold, China smoking them and everything else. It's a it's a big, big day for, uh. Just declaring people to be on Mount Rushmore, and apparently before no Lyle's went over. In an interview, he said I'm envisioning myself returning home as a gold medalist and that puts me on Mount Rushmore hell.

[00:21:18.76 - 00:21:26.92]

Yes, him and Joe Biden. A lot of people, a lot of people going on Mount Rushmore these days. Nancy Pelosi is literally trying to end Mount Rushmore season. It's tough.

[00:21:26.98 - 00:21:33.86]

We won't let her. She probably shorted Mount Rushmore's and then talked about it. Now she's going to buy, she's going to buy, you did mention.

1
Speaker 1
[00:21:33.86 - 00:21:48.66]

The French poll Volter Who? If everyone missed it, Uh, he had. He basically got disqualified or whatever. The bar came down because his dick was too big. Yeah, which kind of the best way to lose? I'd say, everyone's like, Oh, your dick was too big.

[00:21:48.74 - 00:21:50.44]

I'd say, everyone knows your dick's too big.

3
Speaker 3
[00:21:50.48 - 00:22:01.80]

It's without a doubt the best way. And, uh, if he's from France, so if he was from another country where they circumcised, he probably would have been fine. Yeah, that's true he, I think it was.

1
Speaker 1
[00:22:01.80 - 00:22:06.50]

Actually, his balls, more than anything, I think it was his hog, it was whole package, I think it was the dick.

[00:22:06.60 - 00:22:11.90]

Yeah, um, Jokovic is the Goat one. Gold wasn't on TV, couldn't watch it.

[00:22:12.08 - 00:22:23.62]

No big deal on on clay beaten, doll beat, uh, beat the whole country of Spain. I was there, you were there, I was there for the winning for Jokovic, you said he'd beaten, beaten it all.

[00:22:25.02 - 00:22:36.90]

Oh yeah, we had also, uh, John Rahm with an all-time choke, and Scotty Sheffler is Captain America. So he won gold. It was John Rahm was plus five on the back nine.

3
Speaker 3
[00:22:37.06 - 00:22:43.08]

Scotty Sheffler was minus six on the back. He shot a 62 today 600 with eight holes.

1
Speaker 1
[00:22:43.24 - 00:22:51.66]

If John Rahm had shot par on the back nine, he would have won by a stroke and he ended up losing. He kept, he came into the metal. Yeah, yeah, Scotty Sheffler.

[00:22:51.82 - 00:22:52.24]

What a beast.

3
Speaker 3
[00:22:52.24 - 00:22:54.36]

He also, I think he won $38,000.

[00:22:54.72 - 00:22:58.82]

I think that was the purse for today, really. Yes, and he won, like his caddy won $3,800..

[00:22:59.24 - 00:23:04.92]

Not sponsored by Live No Olympics, No. He got the gold medal and they gave him like a A cube, yeah.

[00:23:05.84 - 00:23:18.76]

Is that everyone that's getting that, or is that just golfer? That was the first time I saw someone holding it. It looked like something that you would a villain would steal and die hard, and like Bury underneath the Statue of Liberty. It was like a piece of gold from like Fort Knox that he got to go home with.

[00:23:19.04 - 00:23:25.54]

Good for Scott. Where where was the, uh, where's the course today? Hank? Do you know? I think it was the same place that the Ryder Cup was at, Oh.

[00:23:25.68 - 00:23:29.86]

Oh so, it is actually right next to Versailles, then, which is the original.

1
Speaker 1
[00:23:29.86 - 00:23:35.66]

Louisville. So I might've just made that up. Yeah, I think you did okay, but that's okay.

3
Speaker 3
[00:23:36.10 - 00:23:42.96]

Uh, Sky Sheffler is the man, he is the man. Captain America. Les Golfes nationaux, So now wait, it's called Les Golfes.

[00:23:43.10 - 00:23:46.46]

Les golfes nationaux people were trying to make the Olympic.

1
Speaker 1
[00:23:46.46 - 00:23:51.46]

Gold is the fifth major. We, I mean, well, they were getting that one in Connecticut, right?

3
Speaker 3
[00:23:51.46 - 00:23:56.92]

They were giving Joe travelers travel, oh, the road to Dubai. Yeah, that's true, but Jokovic did that career grand slam.

[00:23:57.24 - 00:24:00.76]

Yeah, so if it's the fifth major for tennis.

1
Speaker 1
[00:24:01.96 - 00:24:09.46]

I feel like it kind of is, but they don't have the travelers in tennis, true, but they probably did. They might, they might.

[00:24:10.06 - 00:24:24.34]

Um, also. Team USA lost to, Uh, Mickey Mouse in the mixed. I didn't even know they did mixed relays pretty cool, but we lost to, uh, the Netherlands and Mickey Mouse. I don't know if you guys have heard this woman's voice.

[00:24:24.66 - 00:24:30.90]

Um, nothing will prepare you for it, but here it is. You know exactly what to do indoors? How was?

3
Speaker 3
[00:24:30.90 - 00:24:37.96]

That for you? Oh, it was amazing. That's a real voice, it sounds like one of us doing a girl's.

1
Speaker 1
[00:24:37.96 - 00:24:45.62]

Voice Yeah, it was amazing. She also looks exactly like, uh, Pete Holmes wife in Crashing.

3
Speaker 3
[00:24:45.86 - 00:24:54.46]

Yes, I saw, I saw her. She, yeah, she does a lot. It's weird to hear, even weirder to look at. Uh, we should not be losing.

[00:24:54.86 - 00:25:06.86]

I feel like for as long as I've been an adult person watching the Olympics. We always dominate the four by 100, except for Jamaica that one time, but I feel like that's a thing that we should dominate, right? It's sad to see, yeah.

[00:25:07.06 - 00:25:16.10]

Uh, the U. S women's soccer team won, that was a great game. No, they beat Japan. Trinity Rodman, Trinity Rodman, scoring goals all over. Where are we in the tournament?

[00:25:16.28 - 00:25:19.38]

I think semifinals now, okay, uh, our basketball.

1
Speaker 1
[00:25:19.38 - 00:25:24.20]

Team is going to win gold. Our draw is insane. Yeah, pretty good, like everyone. Good is on the.

3
Speaker 3
[00:25:24.20 - 00:25:28.90]

Other side of the bracket, so that's a wrap. And MB dominated. Yeah, he did, yeah, he did.

[00:25:29.04 - 00:25:29.40]

I told.

1
Speaker 1
[00:25:29.40 - 00:25:48.62]

You, you didn't tell us because you released a video that we had, you were addressing all these things that we just didn't say, well, you were going to, you know, we weren't. I listened, I went back, I went back and listened. You guys just wanted me to get mad first. But you were going to make fun of them, but I thought you were going to make fun of them and then kick it.

[00:25:48.70 - 00:25:49.36]

I think, if.

3
Speaker 3
[00:25:49.36 - 00:25:59.40]

We're doing, though, like, let's look at the I was mad, let's look at the team as a whole. I would say that Embiid is having a much better Olympics than Tatum. I didn't say that, Hmm.

[00:26:00.04 - 00:26:00.68]

They both.

1
Speaker 1
[00:26:00.68 - 00:26:05.92]

Have one did not play. Um, Max. Do you want to address country like Where's your? where's your?

3
Speaker 3
[00:26:05.92 - 00:26:11.42]

Patriot Do what you're saying that because you know I'm right. No, I'm saying if I was wrong.

1
Speaker 1
[00:26:11.64 - 00:26:25.12]

You would be fighting No. All that matters isn't gold, because we already won gold, like, we're just we're. We're playing for basically, who can be the best on team USA. It was, it was the Ryder Cup course, it was 2018..

[00:26:25.22 - 00:26:32.90]

Okay, nice, uh oh, 2018, Okay uh. Max, would you like to address the fact that the Phillies suck? They won today?

[00:26:33.24 - 00:26:42.88]

Okay, and they lost six. I actually was. You're only as good as your last game. I was thinking about it. Is there a chance that you? Uh, like, curse?

[00:26:42.88 - 00:27:00.76]

You were, you took a week off, you were off on vacation, and the Phillies didn't win a game for the entire time you were off, that's crazy. So I know that sometimes you think that, like this show is a curse to you because you just keep finishing. Second, what if, in a weird twist of fate, if you ever left PMT, you actually would lose everything?

[00:27:00.82 - 00:27:09.58]

I thought about that, like, be a loser like us and also and B didn't play. Yeah, there was a lot of bad things that were happening to Philly Sports while I was gone.

[00:27:09.92 - 00:27:21.80]

And there were a couple moments where I was just like sitting, thinking and getting angry. And I was like, I can't be right now. Like, I can't. I can't let this bother me. You can't, you can't be angry while you're holding a baguette, yeah.

[00:27:21.90 - 00:27:31.98]

So many baguettes, so many baguettes, so many cheats, so much cheese. Uh, you forgot one important team, your Philadelphia water dogs have been eliminated.

3
Speaker 3
[00:27:31.98 - 00:27:39.52]

From the playoffs, I think, I think it's fire, everybody, they suck, dude. They were down 11 to.

1
Speaker 1
[00:27:39.52 - 00:27:45.28]

Nothing on Saturday. They suck I. It starts with us. They're turning me into Dan Snyder, Yeah.

[00:27:45.28 - 00:27:49.82]

But it actually, it does start with Max, because they are the Philadelphia water dogs we never.

3
Speaker 3
[00:27:49.82 - 00:28:06.48]

Were this bad when we were just the water? Well before we got Max, we won a championship, then we got Max, they came in second. But yeah, Max, you might be Matt, like on this show, uh, the the series of heartbreak that you've had. For Philadelphia Sports, you might be completely like maxing out Philly's ability, right?

[00:28:06.48 - 00:28:08.18]

This is like, as good as it gets, right.

1
Speaker 1
[00:28:08.72 - 00:28:20.04]

So Philadelphia should be thanking me. Well, you're not winning anything still, but you can just never leave us, is what we're basically saying. Also, I, I'd like to, uh, to.

3
Speaker 3
[00:28:20.04 - 00:28:25.30]

Apologize to you guys if I could when we went into this, not texting me after my big horrific.

1
Speaker 1
[00:28:25.30 - 00:28:31.42]

Fall and seeing if I was okay would fall, would fall. when I fell on my ass, you fall, yeah, I.

3
Speaker 3
[00:28:31.42 - 00:28:36.18]

Felt really bad, I felt, really, Are you okay? Thank you for asking, Are you all right? I am?

[00:28:36.50 - 00:28:43.64]

Okay, yeah, did you break anything? I almost broke my wrist. You basically have a broken end, pretty much like LeBron, but yes, I know.

[00:28:43.70 - 00:28:52.64]

But I'd like to apologize because going into baseball season, we were trying to figure out which team to bet against every single day. Oh, this is my who's back? Okay, yeah, my who's back.

[00:28:52.64 - 00:28:55.44]

All right, yep, my who's back? It's we got it. We'll talk every day.

[00:28:55.58 - 00:28:58.70]

I have some stats every day, I think about it every single day, that.

1
Speaker 1
[00:28:58.70 - 00:29:03.28]

Team was actually mentioned. But yes, yeah, who's back? I just want to get mad about a list, yep.

[00:29:03.98 - 00:29:07.06]

Okay, uh, Tyree Kill was named number one NFL player.

3
Speaker 3
[00:29:08.00 - 00:29:14.26]

And Patrick Holmes is number four. Yes, I'm insane, and Tyree Kill won't even race speed.

1
Speaker 1
[00:29:14.80 - 00:29:26.10]

That's true, he's a coward. Yeah, he is the I don't understand this list. I mean, I get, I get it because they're trying to make people mad, but no, because this is voted on it. I think the players voted on it.

[00:29:26.34 - 00:29:29.84]

So this is just hater. I think, yeah, it's. it's because there's a lot.

3
Speaker 3
[00:29:29.84 - 00:29:35.46]

Of teams that despise Patrick Mahomes because he beats them, you can't have a top one three.

1
Speaker 1
[00:29:35.46 - 00:29:46.52]

Uh, Lamar and Christian Caffrey. I think it's Christian Caffrey, then Lamar. Um, you can't have a top 100 list of NFL players and not have Patrick Holmes number one.

[00:29:46.74 - 00:29:47.76]

Correct right now.

3
Speaker 3
[00:29:47.88 - 00:29:56.74]

Mahomes should be number one, Tyreek should be anywhere between two and four, fine, but Mahomes is number one. But the gap between one and two is significant, right? It makes no sense.

[00:29:56.86 - 00:30:01.72]

Yeah, it's just people that have lost a. Patrick Mahomes, Yeah, and it also opens up, like, if I.

1
Speaker 1
[00:30:01.72 - 00:30:10.20]

Were a Dolphins fan? I actually wouldn't want to have Tyreek Hill be the number one player because it just opens up chiefs fans to be like, all we care about is ranks. Yeah, and then they.

3
Speaker 3
[00:30:10.20 - 00:30:18.20]

Could just do that to everyone. Well, hypothetically, what would happen if the Chiefs ever played against the Dolphins in the playoffs? What would the weather be? Uh, pretty cold.

1
Speaker 1
[00:30:18.80 - 00:30:24.14]

It wouldn't go well for the dolphins. Okay, it would not go well for the dolphins. It would be helmet breaking cold, yes.

[00:30:24.16 - 00:30:32.56]

It would not go well for the dolphins. All right, what else in the sports world Hall of Fame? Uh, inductions were this weekend. Devin Hester Uh, that was.

3
Speaker 3
[00:30:32.56 - 00:30:37.38]

Pretty cool, he said. Uh, I'm hopefully the first of many to get in, yeah, and he said, I'm the best.

1
Speaker 1
[00:30:37.38 - 00:30:41.56]

Of all time, and he is, he is the best. Yeah, that's not even a question.

[00:30:41.96 - 00:30:48.94]

Steven Michael Obviously battling Als very sad, but uh, great that he got the recognition. Yeah, uh, Julius.

3
Speaker 3
[00:30:48.94 - 00:30:53.40]

Peppers Who else? Patrick Willis? Is it, like, basically going to be impossible for another?

1
Speaker 1
[00:30:53.40 - 00:30:58.36]

Kick returner to get in. Uh, I think he was talking about, like, Josh Cribs and, uh, Brian.

3
Speaker 3
[00:30:58.36 - 00:31:04.24]

MITCHELL Yeah, maybe. Dante, Hall, Dante, all human joy. So I feel like he was the the career was.

1
Speaker 1
[00:31:04.24 - 00:31:14.66]

Too short for Don? Yeah, he was, but uh, yeah, it will. It was very fitting that Devin Hester went in on the weekend that, like, started the new era of kicks, although the new kick is supposed to.

3
Speaker 3
[00:31:14.66 - 00:31:32.96]

Allow for more returns. I think we've been thinking too much, myself included, about how teams are going to take advantage of it on the return. I think it's going to be a bigger advantage for the kicking team to do it than returning team. I feel like a smart special teams coach is going to be able to pin them with like a fucked up kick.

[00:31:33.06 - 00:31:34.18]

Yeah, every kickoff.

1
Speaker 1
[00:31:34.42 - 00:31:38.94]

And you're really high, can you? You can fair catch, so I I'm not sure you probably can.

3
Speaker 3
[00:31:38.98 - 00:31:46.78]

Yeah, you can fair catch basically anything. This is the second show in a row where we don't know these. That makes sense. You can fair catch anything. But I. I hasn't been more games.

1
Speaker 1
[00:31:47.54 - 00:31:52.32]

Yeah, true, we haven't. We haven't seen it enough. Yeah, my prediction for this NFL season.

3
Speaker 3
[00:31:52.52 - 00:32:00.34]

I think people are going to really hate the kickoff because we hate new things. Until, like, we just get used to it and then we're like, Oh, it's fine, it's basically the same we're.

1
Speaker 1
[00:32:00.34 - 00:32:07.14]

Getting the same amount of returns? Yeah, exactly, it does. Technically. if you go to the NFL website, it says promotes more returns, okay?

[00:32:07.18 - 00:32:08.54]

Yeah, well, that's so we'll believe them.

3
Speaker 3
[00:32:10.54 - 00:32:18.72]

You're saying they'd lie. I think eventually it'll be better, I think overall it's going to be better. But because it's new game, because it's new, people are going to hate it, correct?

1
Speaker 1
[00:32:18.84 - 00:32:23.58]

We hate everything now. Yeah, that's a fact, okay? Any other sports stories?

[00:32:23.66 - 00:32:24.44]

I've got one.

3
Speaker 3
[00:32:24.44 - 00:32:35.32]

Thing I want to get ahead of. Yeah, I alluded this to Hank. Earlier. Over the course of the weekend, we were in Nashville, Pup Punk, played at the Barstool Nashville Bar and it was a great time. I had a blast.

[00:32:35.32 - 00:32:47.56]

Before the show, I was getting my guitar tuned up, I was setting up the amp, all that stuff. And a lady came up to me on the side of the stage. She was probably, I'm going to guess, 45, maybe 50 years old.

[00:32:47.90 - 00:32:59.24]

She was very obviously there on a bachelorette party, which is the number one reason people go to Nashville. And the beer Games, and the beer Games, of course. And she came up to me and she was saying something, I walked over to her.

[00:32:59.30 - 00:33:06.28]

I was like, What's that? and she was like motioning over. She's like, I'm on a bachelorette party, it's a scavenger, and I was like, Oh, okay, cool.

[00:33:06.68 - 00:33:16.28]

Got finished setting some stuff up and she was still there, like, come here, come here. So I walked over to her and she was like, put your number in my phone and I said, I can't do that.

[00:33:16.44 - 00:33:25.12]

I was like, I'm not, I'm not going to give you my number. And then she was like, I just need it for scavenger hunt, please just give me your number. I was like, I don't know, I can't, I can't check this off.

[00:33:25.60 - 00:33:35.68]

Like, you're going to have to find somebody else to ask. Then she's like, just put in any number, I don't care, so I can just check it off and say that. So I reached over and just hit in 10 random numbers.

[00:33:36.48 - 00:33:51.30]

There were people that had cameras out at the time. And it might, and it might look like I gave a 50 year old woman my number. Uh, wanted to just get ahead of this. That's not what happened, so in case that video comes out, I'm ahead of it, that's good.

[00:33:51.38 - 00:33:53.60]

That's what we call getting ahead of a story, that's.

1
Speaker 1
[00:33:53.60 - 00:34:03.72]

Smart, Yeah, see, this is the National Barstool Bar. Yes, any other videos you want to get ahead of at the National Barstool Bar?

[00:34:03.84 - 00:34:07.02]

All right, no, I think we're good. Anything? Okay, great.

[00:34:07.10 - 00:34:10.74]

We're good. Yeah, you should have put in nine on one, I should have put it in and then just hit Dial.

3
Speaker 3
[00:34:11.04 - 00:34:16.66]

Yeah, was she hot? I think, Uh, why'd you give her my number? Yeah, your number.

[00:34:17.04 - 00:34:25.12]

Well, Hank, I thought you'd be busy. There was another crazy plane lady that went viral this weekend. I thought maybe you'd be reaching out to her. You see, you see the naked plane lady, yeah.

[00:34:25.60 - 00:34:32.88]

Totally nude, totally nude. Wait, was this one or not? I I think maybe maybe back in her day, okay?

[00:34:33.08 - 00:34:33.42]

Yeah.

[00:34:35.10 - 00:34:38.48]

Cannons I don't know respectfully. I did not look respectfully, yeah.

[00:34:38.68 - 00:34:39.08]

Respectfully.

1
Speaker 1
[00:34:40.40 - 00:34:43.80]

Nancy Pelosi should have just done a press conference, being like, my cannons are on.

3
Speaker 3
[00:34:43.80 - 00:34:48.94]

The Mount Rushmore Yeah, and like, Okay, just just put them like underneath Abraham Lincoln.

1
Speaker 1
[00:34:49.62 - 00:34:54.18]

Have these boots? yeah, put these cannons on. Uh, okay, let's do.

[00:34:54.18 - 00:35:06.46]

Who's back the week then coach Jim Harbaugh? Who's back the weeks brought to you by our friends at Mountain Dew? I've been drinking it right now because, you know what, we all need to get more of off our ass. With bold flavors and refreshing citrus kick.

[00:35:06.54 - 00:35:21.70]

Mountain Dew will get you off your ass and have you feeling like you're on an actual mountain, so a mountain where the weather is always perfect. Your friends are ready to hang in. A day of epic proportion awaits. I love the regular, old school mountain dew. Great can.

[00:35:21.92 - 00:35:32.74]

Yeah, uh, we got Baja blast here as well. So the mountain is calling. You should answer, Grab your friends, grab an ice cold mountain dew wherever refreshing beverages are sold, and do the do. I love mountain dew so much?

[00:35:32.80 - 00:35:37.36]

I'm drinking the zero right now, I think this is the best zero sugar. Yeah, it's.

[00:35:37.36 - 00:35:43.26]

I mean, Mountain Dew is just one of my favorite. How can you not love Mountain Dew? It's elite, yeah, also great logo, great colors.

[00:35:43.56 - 00:35:50.80]

Like, look at this can, this can. It works perfectly with my football jersey. Yeah, it does so. Get off your ass and let's drink some mountain dew.

[00:35:51.22 - 00:35:54.70]

Uh, hank, your who's back the week? who's back the week is the Chicago.

3
Speaker 3
[00:35:54.84 - 00:36:03.20]

No, I'm just kidding. Um, you don't have one, you don't have one. He was planning his vacation earlier, he was planning his vacation.

[00:36:03.38 - 00:36:11.22]

Who's back? The week is disgrace. Oh, okay, our our three on three basketball team got eliminated. He sucked.

[00:36:11.22 - 00:36:19.40]

So bad, Jimmer was hurt, right? I'm going to blame this on Jimmer being played. Oh, Jimmer's hurt. He did not play against Lithuania.

[00:36:20.40 - 00:36:21.06]

I don't know.

1
Speaker 1
[00:36:21.06 - 00:36:28.42]

If he played the last game we were owing to, then he didn't play, then we lost again. I think we won one game. I don't even know how the fuck is this possible?

[00:36:28.76 - 00:36:38.34]

Also, why don't we just send our why isn't Jalen Brown in three and three? I think it's like a different type of training. I don't know, it's disgrace. No, it's like Peyton Pritchard.

[00:36:38.72 - 00:36:41.04]

Like, just send our next three guys.

3
Speaker 3
[00:36:41.20 - 00:36:49.94]

Wait, once we're over there and we got guys like Jason Tatum and Joel Embiid, they can't get minutes, why don't we just put them over on the three? I'm saying the Joel Embiid, it's a fast.

1
Speaker 1
[00:36:49.94 - 00:36:57.68]

Paced game, That's true, he's too fat to go all the way to the three point line and back. I. It's insane that we lost this early.

[00:36:57.76 - 00:37:05.82]

We didn't even make it to the knockout stage. Disgrace, absolute disgrace. I. Why isn't Gorky on the team? Good question.

[00:37:06.20 - 00:37:06.72]

There's a lot of.

3
Speaker 3
[00:37:06.74 - 00:37:15.26]

There's a lot of people, I think they're going to have to do some, you know, bring coach K. And, and, you know, save our country again. Yeah, yeah, we should take our best basketball playing.

1
Speaker 1
[00:37:15.26 - 00:37:24.40]

Football players, the women's three on three team does have WNBA players, so why the fuck don't we have NBA players in our three on three? Yeah, that's not good, yeah.

[00:37:25.44 - 00:37:32.38]

Um, all right, what's what's going on? what's going on? Hey Max, I just thought it was funny. Huey, like, loves talking about WNBA.

[00:37:32.38 - 00:37:38.86]

Oh yeah, if who's back's coming up at the Huey's talking about the WNBA, all right?

3
Speaker 3
[00:37:38.88 - 00:37:47.76]

PFT Who's your? who's back? My? Who's back of the week is John Gruden. John Gruden was at Chief's practice today. Oh, he's also a beast on Cameo, is he really?

[00:37:48.00 - 00:37:49.16]

What's he doing? Number one on Cameo.

1
Speaker 1
[00:37:49.16 - 00:37:57.44]

Let's get a cameo. How much is he? We should actually try to do a full interview with him on Cameo. Yeah, oh fuck.

[00:37:57.58 - 00:37:58.28]

That would rule.

[00:38:00.14 - 00:38:04.38]

Yes, yeah, let's get John, let's just do a full, full interview, we'll run it.

[00:38:04.66 - 00:38:06.94]

Yeah, full, all right. Okay, we're going to do that.

[00:38:06.96 - 00:38:13.34]

Let's write like, 15 questions, Can we? Can we just be? Like, $130 is the most expensive interview we've ever.

3
Speaker 3
[00:38:13.34 - 00:38:21.26]

Done, let's, let's. Uh. One of the questions should just be, are we write his answers for him? right? so what if his answer should just be the text of one of the emails?

[00:38:21.48 - 00:38:21.82]

Good question.

1
Speaker 1
[00:38:22.54 - 00:38:25.20]

Yeah, thanks. good question. Yeah, yeah.

[00:38:25.48 - 00:38:27.14]

Okay, yeah, we're going to do that, but yeah, he was.

3
Speaker 3
[00:38:27.18 - 00:38:39.76]

He was at Chief's practice today, he was wearing a chief's uniform and he was advising chief's coaches. Whoa, So I think John Gruden might be secretly on the chief's coaching staff. Dipping his toe, I think he's, he's dipping more than that.

[00:38:39.92 - 00:38:56.12]

Wow, he's like mid shaft right now with the Chiefs, and he used to work with Andy in, uh, in Green Bay, right? I believe so. So, I feel like Andy Reed would be the guy. If there's any coach right now in the NFL that does not give a fuck what the what the League office thinks about them is probably Andy Reed.

[00:38:56.30 - 00:38:57.58]

Yeah, he's too successful.

1
Speaker 1
[00:38:57.88 - 00:39:07.48]

Yeah, um, John Gruden would be fun to have back. Uh, I thought you were going to maybe do your Who's back? uh? RFK Jr. Can you explain the bear thing? Oh, the bear thing?

[00:39:07.62 - 00:39:08.92]

Yeah, so this doesn't.

3
Speaker 3
[00:39:08.92 - 00:39:24.94]

Make any sense? It's kind of a fun story and he got out ahead of it, just like I got ahead of the The Old Woman's story. But um, so, from what I understand, is RFK Jr. He, uh. Back in the day, he was driving behind his friend, they were going on a hunting trip.

[00:39:25.34 - 00:39:38.76]

The car in front of him ran over a bear, a bear cub like a young bear. And then RFK Jr. pulled over, picked the bear up, put it in the back of his van. It's not very Kennedy like of him, yeah.

[00:39:38.76 - 00:39:52.50]

You're actually going back to help something that might've been hitting. Yeah, yeah, so stepping out a little bit on that. So he put the bear in the back of his van. Uh, because he was going to skin it and then take the meat later because he had a bear license. As one does.

[00:39:52.82 - 00:40:01.74]

Okay, so he, uh, he then proceeds to go back to New York. He forgets he's got a steak dinner, Peter Lugers, So he's like, Okay, I'll just duck in for the steak real quick.

[00:40:02.02 - 00:40:08.46]

I'll leave the dead bear in the back of my van, no big deal. Go inside, eat the steak dinner. Then the dinner ran a little bit long, okay?

[00:40:08.48 - 00:40:21.10]

So he goes back, he's like, Oh crap, I got to get to the airport. Uh, I don't know what I'm going to do with this dead bear cub that I've got in the back of my van. So then he drives with his buddies that he was just drinking with, or they were drinking.

[00:40:21.64 - 00:40:35.88]

He drives with them now, it's getting more kennedy like, Yeah, yeah, so they get in the car. And they have a great suggestion that, he says he played along with. Which was to take the bear in Central Park and stage it and make it look like a bicycle. Ran into and killed the bear cub.

[00:40:36.02 - 00:40:43.46]

Okay, it's a pretty common prank, and many, many bear cubs in Central Park. A lot of them, yeah, so this is going to be a funny thing.

[00:40:43.46 - 00:40:48.80]

They were doing with the boys. This actually is like a guy's being dudes moment, yeah, like somebody has a bad idea.

[00:40:49.22 - 00:41:06.04]

All your friends are hammered and then you think that it's a good idea for some reason. So then he drives the bear, the Dead Bear cub, to Central Park, stages it to make it look like it got run over by a bicycle, which I guess would kill a bear. But at the time, there were a bunch of like, bike related fatalities in New York City, okay?

[00:41:06.04 - 00:41:15.92]

So they were doing that as a joke about, like all the bicyclists hitting people, they're like, even they're, they're hitting bears now. Oh, it was a it was a comment on on site. It was satire, yeah.

[00:41:15.96 - 00:41:31.34]

Right, yeah, so they they put the bear there, and then, uh, the next day on the news, they wake up and they turn it on. And it's like national news. That a bear cub got run over by a bike as a crime scene. And for the last, I don't know what. What's the date on this?

[00:41:31.38 - 00:41:41.24]

Can somebody look that up? Like, when it happened, uh? But ever since then, it's been like a big mystery. Why? How did this bear cub die in Central Park? Turns out that RFK Jr.

[00:41:41.74 - 00:41:49.32]

Put it there. And how did we find this story out today? So we found out today because RFK Jr. was doing a podcast with a Roseanne bar, okay?

[00:41:49.50 - 00:42:04.40]

And so he found out that the New Yorker was going to write a story about it. Okay, so he was getting ahead of the story by telling Roseanne the whimsical story about how he ran, how he hid the bear carcass in Central Park. Oh my God, 10 years ago, 10 years ago.

[00:42:04.42 - 00:42:10.36]

Yeah, yeah. So, like for the last 10 years, New Yorkers have been wondering what happened, what happened with this bear? It turns out, RFK.

1
Speaker 1
[00:42:10.36 - 00:42:15.80]

Jr I want to find out that RFK Jr. had a hand in Flack of the Owl. It's a possibility it could.

3
Speaker 3
[00:42:15.80 - 00:42:19.72]

Be a possibility. Yeah, let's not, let's not put anything past him at this point, close that case.

1
Speaker 1
[00:42:19.72 - 00:42:22.98]

Yet so get ahead of that one insane headline. Yeah, pretty well.

[00:42:23.30 - 00:42:29.62]

Okay, I think I don't care at all. Yeah, but it was. It's still a cool story, yeah.

[00:42:29.68 - 00:42:32.06]

Like here, like I, I actually appreciate.

3
Speaker 3
[00:42:32.06 - 00:42:42.38]

What RFK Jr. is doing in this, in this political season where, like, everything has been very intense? And he's just like coming out with stories left and right about being a weirdo, yeah, I mean.

1
Speaker 1
[00:42:42.38 - 00:42:50.94]

There was the famous when, when a reporter asked if there was any more sexual allegation. Things coming out about him, he just said, We'll see. Yeah, which is a hell of an answer he's.

3
Speaker 3
[00:42:50.94 - 00:42:54.36]

Had he's been on a heater, too, like the Brain Worms thing? Wait, do we think he?

1
Speaker 1
[00:42:55.00 - 00:43:08.06]

We don't think he killed the bear, he claims that he didn't, cause that part feels, he says, that there was a car in front of him. That sounds like Billy football, the way he's like, Yeah, this dude killed the bear and I got it. They both kind of believe a lot of the same things.

3
Speaker 3
[00:43:08.06 - 00:43:25.30]

Politically. But like this, if you hit a bear and you kill it. And I'm assuming you're going to notice that, it's going to hit your car and probably cause some damage, right? Do you just keep going, or do you pull over and you're like, What the fuck was that? Yeah, I don't know.

[00:43:26.52 - 00:43:26.92]

That's.

1
Speaker 1
[00:43:26.92 - 00:43:36.34]

Really, and I don't really. I don't think you see a bear get hit and then pull over immediately being like, Ooh, I want this bear, I want this bear meat, and I want to skin it, bear cub, I want.

3
Speaker 3
[00:43:36.34 - 00:43:45.68]

To skin this bear cub, Yeah, that doesn't feel like a lot of meat. That's also a valid point. And would you want, like, a bear cubs skin in your house?

[00:43:45.76 - 00:44:02.94]

Like, if you're going to, there's nothing cooler than having. Like the bear that's standing up, looking like it's going to kill you, baby bear, but like, a tiny little bear is kind of fucked up thing. Yeah, that might be a bigger red flag than putting in the back of your van. Then you put in the back of your van. Like, it's a hostage for 15 hours and you're like, Oh, I can't leave it in my van because it'll smell.

[00:44:03.34 - 00:44:09.80]

Let's drive from Brooklyn to Central Park to drop it off this. This story doesn't really make sense anymore.

1
Speaker 1
[00:44:09.92 - 00:44:15.92]

And it makes all the sense in the world to me. Okay, my who's back? I got two of them. First is we were alluding to it.

[00:44:16.08 - 00:44:33.18]

The Chicago White Sox, who are on a 20 game losing streak now. Pft, you mentioned it. But we did have the debate before the season should we bet against the A's of the White Sox? Yeah, it came down to those two teams and we chose incorrectly because we are betting against the A's every day.

[00:44:33.18 - 00:45:02.52]

And I think we're down eight units, which isn't disastrous. But the White Sox have lost 20 games in a row. They have also have a streak of 14 losses in a row. They're 16 or, sorry, 60 games under 500. If you just erased their 14 game losing streak and their 20 game losing streak, they would still have the worst winning percentage in baseball this year. And and we'd be rich.

[00:45:02.52 - 00:45:19.88]

And we'd be rich. If you took their 20 game losing streak in 14 game losing streak and magically made them a 20 game winning streak in a 14 game winning streak. They would, they would only go up one spot in the AL Central. It's bad, that's how bad they are, they are so, so bad.

[00:45:20.40 - 00:45:30.58]

It's, I mean, here's another one. The last White Sox win was closer in time to the Celtics winning the NB.A. finals into. Right now. That's bad, that's really bad I feel.

3
Speaker 3
[00:45:30.58 - 00:45:46.32]

Bad for White Sox Part of the reason, Part of the reason why we didn't bet against the White Sox every day. Or at least me. Why I didn't really want to do that was because new in Chicago, I'm trying to enjoy the city. A great way to make enemies here is by hating all their sports teams.

1
Speaker 1
[00:45:46.32 - 00:45:58.54]

But it turns out we should have done it because White Sox fans hate the White Sox more than anyone at this point. Cause Jerry Reinsdorf is completely made like this. It's a joke. The there's another one, this is from Jay Kuta.

[00:45:59.28 - 00:46:19.28]

Only two managers in baseball history have at least 200 games managed for the same team and a winning percentage under three 33, which is insane winning percentage. Pedro Grafal and a guy named Dr. James Prothro, who was a licensed dentist who managed the Phillies during World War Two. Love that.

[00:46:19.30 - 00:46:26.48]

That guy had to manage the team because everyone was playing, was fighting the Nazis. Yeah, and then it's Pedro Grafal, that's insane. I'm not the step coach.

3
Speaker 3
[00:46:26.62 - 00:46:32.94]

I'm the coach that stepped up. Yeah, it's. It's one of my great regrets in life. Yeah, not fading the white sox every single day this year.

[00:46:33.10 - 00:46:41.06]

What would you if you at the start of this losing streak? If you had bet a hundred bucks on them and then you let it ride? What would that total?

1
Speaker 1
[00:46:41.06 - 00:46:44.90]

Be someone's going to have that. We're not math guys. Really bummed out, yeah.

[00:46:44.94 - 00:46:45.84]

21, I think is the.

3
Speaker 3
[00:46:45.84 - 00:46:50.66]

Record Yeah, so what are they at 19 now? they're 20, they're 20 now.

[00:46:50.76 - 00:46:57.96]

Yeah, they're 20. I every time I see this happen, I just think of how much more money I would have. They're so bad it's.

1
Speaker 1
[00:46:57.96 - 00:47:20.60]

Like, getting to a point, too, where, uh, they're basically circling the, uh, the rotations. Where. I think they played the twins, I think they just finished playing the twins, or maybe they were playing, yeah, they were playing twins this weekend, or maybe it was during the week. But, uh, there was a game August 3rd where the last time they won a game was against Bailey over on the Twins.

[00:47:20.60 - 00:47:34.04]

And then they were facing Bailey over again. Like, you know, three weeks later and 60 games out is so many games, so many games out. It's ridiculous. 27 wins, 27 wins and we're we're in August, it's insane.

[00:47:34.30 - 00:48:06.80]

Um, and then my other who's back is, I don't know if you guys saw this. Uh, it was. I'm setting myself up for some insults. But, uh. There was a account called Brooksgate that did a thread of all of the most retweeted and liked, uh, or, yeah, retweeted and tweets of all time by NFL teams. Did you guys see this? So, um, there was some good ones in there, uh, the bears, the bears. One was welcome to the Chicago Bears. Justin Fields.

[00:48:07.28 - 00:48:26.06]

That hurt a little, uh, the the Bills and the Bengals had. It was all about Demar sending thoughts to Demar Cowboys. One was Jerry Jones taking a knee, which we forgot that he did that. Oh no, it's so great. Yeah, um, and then the one that really hurt me, Hank, you'll get a laugh out of this.

[00:48:26.22 - 00:48:39.28]

The Packers one is actually, I think the oldest one on this, uh, and it just says it's 42 to nothing Packers. With 14 seconds left in quarter two. That was the game we watched together. Where Aaron Rodgers that was before the juiced Twitter numbers. Yeah, that's from 2014..

[00:48:40.16 - 00:48:46.02]

Uh, I don't know what the commanders want. Oh, the commanders was when you guys broke the Steelers, uh, undefeated season.

3
Speaker 3
[00:48:46.04 - 00:48:52.60]

That's right. Yeah, that was, that was a pretty worst 11 and O's, uh, team of all time, those, yeah. What about the Chargers, PF Chang's?

[00:48:52.64 - 00:48:55.26]

Oh, I don't think the chargers PF Chang's was on there.

1
Speaker 1
[00:48:55.36 - 00:49:07.28]

Patriots has got to be a 28 to three one. The Patriots was something about Tom Brady. Oh, the Eagles. One was a big time cuck, one said. Times yours Andy after he won the Super Bowl in 2020..

[00:49:07.34 - 00:49:17.10]

Oh, no, that's brutal. The number one liked favorited tweet by the Eagles is celebrating someone else's Super Bowl. We respect Andy. I love Andy. I'm happy that he won the Super Bowl.

[00:49:17.10 - 00:49:28.54]

You can't, you can't start. No respect. Uh, yours, Patriots was congratulations to the greatest of all time. Uh oh, that's another one. That was after the Bucks won the Super Bowl. Brutal.

3
Speaker 3
[00:49:29.22 - 00:49:33.56]

Brutal, yep, that's a set together big time cuck energy over there.

[00:49:33.60 - 00:49:38.26]

I thought the Patriots one would be when they accidentally tweeted out a racial slur out of six rules, yeah.

1
Speaker 1
[00:49:39.96 - 00:49:43.14]

I was just backing up, I was like, they don't know anything about respect.

[00:49:45.92 - 00:49:46.32]

The.

3
Speaker 3
[00:49:46.94 - 00:49:49.06]

ACC Congratulating Katie Ledecky.

[00:49:51.46 - 00:49:52.96]

Yeah, Stanford University, yeah.

1
Speaker 1
[00:49:53.62 - 00:50:19.10]

Oh, the uh, the saddest one, besides, obviously the uh one I mentioned about the packers just shitting on the bears. uh, was the dolphins? Can you guess what the dolphins one was? It has to do with their new quarterback or their new, their new contract for their quarterback. No, no. It says Tua has been taken to a local hospital for further evaluation.

[00:50:19.28 - 00:50:19.80]

He is conscious.

3
Speaker 3
[00:50:19.80 - 00:50:24.30]

And has movement in all his extremities. Okay, so that was probably also big prayers up, yeah.

1
Speaker 1
[00:50:24.32 - 00:50:34.92]

But that was the most light retreat. It was when I think it was after he got, they would think it was the Bengals game, when he had was got really concussed. What would the, uh, the Panthers be? Oh, the Panthers.

[00:50:35.06 - 00:50:41.10]

Let's see, it's fun, it's a fun little trip down, uh, memory lane. Oh yeah, the Jaguars happy jeans.

[00:50:41.10 - 00:50:49.94]

Friday, everyone's Jaguars had a good one about, just like shitting on the Steelers. Uh, I'm looking for the Panthers. I'm looking for the Panthers. Someone give me a line.

[00:50:49.98 - 00:50:53.34]

Oh, panthers, uh, it was lou keekly retiring. Okay, thank you a lot of that.

[00:50:53.38 - 00:50:58.02]

Yeah, yeah, a lot of that, and then, uh, obviously Demar had a lot, uh, okay.

[00:50:58.32 - 00:51:11.88]

Huey, you're who's back? Yeah, my who's back is a Ohio state fans back on their bullshit. Um, all the after all the allegations coming out today of uh of uh, coach more findings, uh findings. No, it's allegations.

[00:51:11.88 - 00:51:30.28]

What were the findings? He deleted a couple of text messages in regard to Connor Stallions and his possible knowledge on the 52 text messages. That's not as much as 200. And so, you know, he's just doing his, his job is due diligence. Um, I don't think anything, and I know this is going to be any. It's not going to be a big deal past today.

[00:51:33.52 - 00:51:36.82]

Yeah, flip on the radar. Yeah, yeah, I think I know what he's talking about today.

[00:51:37.10 - 00:51:46.38]

They also confirmed the counter Stallions was on a Central Michigan sideline. That's good for them. That program, the Mac, needs a lot of help. Yup, that program is going to be a powerhouse.

[00:51:46.50 - 00:51:47.36]

Yeah, it.

3
Speaker 3
[00:51:47.36 - 00:51:52.56]

Might've been just like Michigan, sharing one of their assistants with CMU. Yeah, nothing.

1
Speaker 1
[00:51:52.56 - 00:52:02.24]

Inappropriate going on. We we interviewed Harbaugh, like a couple hours after this, we weren't going to ask him about this. I don't know. I'm sure there'll be people like, why didn't you ask him?

[00:52:02.48 - 00:52:10.24]

I we have a relationship with coach Harbaugh. I really didn't feel like being like, Hey, putting on our big J hats going on with Sharon Moore? Yeah, listen, we're here to.

3
Speaker 3
[00:52:10.24 - 00:52:14.92]

Talk about his team right now. Yeah, right, also suck his dick a little bit about Michigan also.

1
Speaker 1
[00:52:14.98 - 00:52:31.98]

It was an awesome interview. So I, I, I am still as crazy as the Connor Stallion story is. I still think that everyone was doing something similar and they were just mad that Michigan like this, this all comes from Ohio State, being jealous that Michigan was beating them. Yeah, and like having that firm.

[00:52:31.98 - 00:52:35.70]

That was wasn't his brother created a firm something about his brother and.

3
Speaker 3
[00:52:35.70 - 00:52:39.20]

Worked up in New England somewhere? Yeah, it's the best college football story of all time. It.

1
Speaker 1
[00:52:39.20 - 00:52:44.08]

Is Connor Stallion is just a hilarious character? Yes, he's a. he's an American hero, he's like.

3
Speaker 3
[00:52:44.08 - 00:52:55.46]

The American Dream. Uh, hank, what are your thoughts on this? As a veteran of someone who's been accused of spying on teams, and as a veteran of a fan of a team who's deleted a lot of text?

1
Speaker 1
[00:52:55.46 - 00:53:08.36]

Messages Yeah, I think you got to get every advantage you can, I think if you're not going to do it. And other teams going to and to to PF. I mean, to Big Cat's point, the only reason they got caught is just because people are mad. They were doing it so well, they were winning.

[00:53:08.70 - 00:53:15.54]

I mean, there's a chance of Ohio State beat up Michigan the last two years. We don't even know Connor Stallion's name. That's true. Good point, good point.

[00:53:15.60 - 00:53:17.38]

Huey, you acquitted yourself quite.

3
Speaker 3
[00:53:17.38 - 00:53:21.64]

Well, uh okay, should we get to our interview? Let's do it, yeah.

And now here's coach Harbaugh.

1
Speaker 1
[00:54:34.72 - 00:54:50.22]

Okay, we now welcome on a very, very, very special guest recurring guest. It is our Grit Week starter Grit Week, presented by Coors Light. It is coach Jim Harbaugh, national champion back in the NFL coach.

[00:54:50.38 - 00:54:59.82]

You know how Grit Week works, so you've given us this answer before, but it's been a while. Uh, how would you define grit? I would, I would define it as, uh, you know.

2
Speaker 2
[00:54:59.82 - 00:55:25.56]

That that gravel in the gut, uh, and uh, even that you personally have that overcomes that, uh, that situation when you know you, you doubt yourself. Yeah, those pressure moments. And you know the guys that, the guys that have it, athletes who have it, men or women, whoever has it. I mean, then they are able to give their best when their best is needed most.

3
Speaker 3
[00:55:25.84 - 00:55:38.40]

Yeah, I like that overcoming a little adversity from time to time. Yeah, do you do you enjoy a little bit of adversity? Just so you can get a a nice little W, a nice win over? Like, maybe your, your inner demons, or whatever the case may be.

[00:55:39.32 - 00:55:41.50]

Um, well, I mean, there's.

2
Speaker 2
[00:55:41.60 - 00:55:59.14]

There's like the the level of the W would be, Yeah, I mean, we just love a W, no matter what. I mean, uh, you win. But yeah, there is some, there's some. There's like even better levels, like if you have to overcome something, yeah, that makes that even even better, right?

[00:55:59.28 - 00:56:58.86]

Um, you know, for example, yeah, that come from behind, come from behind. Win is even, you know, nothing makes you feel better than that, or that win. Where you did it in an opposing stadium, you know, and you, you feel like you, you know, your. Your team walked in there and, uh, you know, the fans were against you, you know, and it was just you overcame that. Um, some tough environments that there's just no better feeling than coming out of a, uh, with a win in a place like that. Yeah, and then if you can throw the elements in, you know? There's some like, you know, real real cold, or real real hot. Or, uh, you know, some rain coming down sideways. And you feel like you overcame the elements as well, you know, yeah, to overcome an opponent, overcome them in their stadium and to overcome them in their stadium with the elements. Then I would say, Yeah, there's nothing that would make you feel more.

1
Speaker 1
[00:56:58.86 - 00:57:04.66]

Like, a man than that. Yeah, yeah, all three, you know, beat them all. It's great to see you back in the NFL.

[00:57:05.10 - 00:57:21.00]

I wanted to ask you, though, like, how hard was that decision to go come back to the NFL? Leaving Michigan? You, you went there, you proved everything you you set out to prove took a while, but it did, you did. It beat Ohio State three years in a row national title, but was it? Was it tough?

[00:57:21.10 - 00:57:26.96]

Cause that is, I assume, your dream job. But to then be like, I got to leave this and come back to the NFL, was that a tough decision?

2
Speaker 2
[00:57:27.32 - 00:58:09.74]

Yeah, it was, I mean, uh, I mean, I love, love these guys, you know? I mean, this was, uh, you know, all the all the players there, all the all the guys are recruited, the coaches, um, you know, just just everybody. I mean, it's like, love you guys. And, uh, you know, there's. There's another thing where, Okay, here's a here's a challenge, you know? Here's somebody that, uh, you know, likes what you do and how you do it. And and presenting you with this challenge. And whether it's a blessing or a curse, I mean, that's that's, um, you know, kind of. Always. What's been in me is like, yeah, let me see if I'm, let me, let me see if I'm up to that.

[00:58:09.92 - 00:58:10.86]

And um.

[00:58:12.38 - 00:58:31.46]

So that's, uh, that was the, that was the overarching. Yeah, I would say, there's only, there's only, there's only so many sands left in the hourglass, you know? So, uh, yeah, I want to, I want, I want to. I shot at that. I want to see if, uh, you know, we we could let you know, see if we can, uh, stand up to that.

[00:58:31.82 - 00:58:50.36]

And um, so yeah, it's been, it's been, it's been hard, you know, uh, and this is, this is, this is. My two great loves that I have in my life is my family at home, you know, and my family at work. And and there's there was that Michigan family.

[00:58:51.98 - 00:59:22.92]

Uh, and also my dad lived right next door to me in Ann Arbor. And maybe the toughest thing of all, you know, uh, has been that, uh, you know, they, they haven't, they haven't moved out here. And mom and dad, I hope you, please, please, I need you living next door to us, here in, uh, in, uh, Los Angeles. Um, but I gotta say this, this family I have here at work, I love these guys, I love these guys, and, um, that's players.

[00:59:23.04 - 00:59:52.70]

That's the coaching staff we put together, I mean, just tremendous all-star staff. Um, I know it, I know that, and the entire organization. I mean equipment room, the ownership, um, you know, the trainer, uh, the doctors, the grounds crew, i mean, everybody here. John Wiedemeyer, Christina, Uh, Marco, on and on and on the. And. I finally put my finger on it, which is why. Why do I love these?

[00:59:53.06 - 01:00:11.92]

Why do I love these? Everybody here so much, so fast? And and it's if I had to say one thing. It's just that everybody here treats their job like it's the most important job in the entire organization. And, uh, you know, they are just, you know, double check it, triple check it.

[01:00:12.14 - 01:00:28.18]

Uh, you know, they just, they just, they want to be, they want to be so good. Um, that, you know, I, I just love that. Everybody, players and all are doing everything, anything and everything in their power to to try to make this team win and be successful.

1
Speaker 1
[01:00:28.18 - 01:00:37.58]

I love that, love these guys. And now one thing you didn't mention, which I would assume was part of it, is, Uh, your brother has a Superbowl. Did that? Did that get in your head a little?

2
Speaker 2
[01:00:37.64 - 01:00:42.10]

Like, I got to go get a Superbowl. Um, yeah, I think people you know, like, um.

[01:00:43.80 - 01:00:57.60]

Would automatically think that I think it's been said, and, uh, yeah, you know, that's, that's, that's part of it. Yeah, um, but we know you, it's gotta be a little part. I'm not denying that.

[01:00:57.72 - 01:01:15.16]

Yeah, I mean, uh, but uh, yeah, I gotta say that. um, and maybe maybe. But, um, you know, I know. Everybody says, you gotta do, you gotta do one thing first, you gotta make the first birdie before you can, you know, do anything else. But, uh, yeah, it's it's so good here.

[01:01:15.66 - 01:01:27.90]

Um, this entire organization, the the Spanos family. Joe Joe Ortiz, My brother said, I would love Joe. That's what he said. Oh, you're gonna love Joe, you're gonna love working with Joe. Uh, he undersold him.

[01:01:28.02 - 01:01:47.02]

He undersold I, I. He's the one of the best evaluators in the game. I don't think there's anybody better. Uh, after going through this off season and draft with George. And he's, he's he. He is who he is every day, and, uh, he pulls the best out of people. Uh, it's just. It's just been spectacular.

[01:01:47.12 - 01:02:05.04]

He could, those draft meetings we had, I mean, there could be like a Ted talk of, you know, just the leadership style that that he has. Uh, you know, he's a he's a normal guy, He's a football guy. Yeah, he's a grit, weak guy, you know? Um, so my brother, he did say I'd love him.

[01:02:05.08 - 01:02:14.40]

Maybe there's. To me, it's like he's still undersold it. You know what? I mean, how much I'm gonna love Joe Hortiz. So, uh, you know, that's been amazing, just everything's amazing.

[01:02:14.46 - 01:02:29.22]

If, if, if it goes good, it's got to be because because there's everything is in place. And the players that we have and we can start talking about those guys too. But uh, and if it goes bad, or because I'm a bad manager? But, uh, yeah, we're we're chipping away at it, and.

1
Speaker 1
[01:02:29.22 - 01:02:48.88]

Getting after it every day. Listen, I wanted you, I was very publicly wanting you to coach the Bears. Uh, I was reading it back the the I sent you, I made you a video, a hype video. Trying to be like, Hey, maybe I can get some kind of old flame going in coach Harbaugh's heart, where he's like, I gotta go back to Chicago. Your response was the nicest, like, I don't care about this video ever.

[01:02:48.88 - 01:02:59.30]

Could I read it to you? It was the nicest ever, you wrote back. I sent you the video, uh, of you high old highlights, you in a Bears uniform, all this stuff, and you said, Thanks, cool.

[01:02:59.76 - 01:03:06.06]

All glory to God. Sure do value our football and family relationships and good times, cherish them. Thanks for caring and supporting.

[01:03:06.50 - 01:03:11.96]

There are enough doubters and haters in the world. Much respect and gratitude for you and yours. That was the nicest. I don't care about this.

2
Speaker 2
[01:03:12.82 - 01:03:13.82]

That's not at all.

[01:03:15.92 - 01:03:39.94]

No, I, I appreciate you both. I mean, big cat. PFT commentator Uh, I mean, there are, there's so many, there's so many young people. And I don't know everything you do and say, Um, but what I do know is like, people, there's a. There's like a whole young generation of people that like, Uh, oh, you're a football guy here, you're a football guy, you know, we know you.

[01:03:39.94 - 01:04:01.18]

And I go and I like, I asked a couple of, like, you know? like, do you know me? I mean, what do you? Well, we watch, you know, we watch Big Cat and PFT counter. So I appreciate, I appreciate the wonder, all the wonderful things you said about, uh, our family. Yeah, so I met, I met every word of that.

[01:04:01.22 - 01:04:09.88]

And uh, and I know my brother John feels the same way, and uh, and my dad, Jack Jack Harbaugh, uh, who's doing great, I mean.

3
Speaker 3
[01:04:13.14 - 01:04:21.80]

Are you sitting in like a links to houses, or are you looking at real estate and you're like, Hey, look at this basement, this one's got a pool? Yeah, you know, it's a great question.

[01:04:21.92 - 01:04:22.06]

I mean.

2
Speaker 2
[01:04:22.06 - 01:04:47.60]

It's just a question with the, with the, with the, you know, there's, there's, there's strategy. I'm always thinking of, of the, of the of the way to do this now. When, when I went from San Francisco to Michigan, um, one of the last things, I said, Dad, you know, um, what? What do you think I should do here? you know, what do you think I should do? And he thinks, I think you should go back to Michigan and coach Michigan.

[01:04:48.04 - 01:05:07.86]

And, um, I said, Okay, well, if I do that, you're going to, you're going to come, right? You're going to come to Ann Arbor, and you're going to, you're going to, you're going to help me coach. And he said the last thing he said is that he would, and, uh, and I, I got him, you know, I got him saying that, and then it took a full 12 months before he actually did, you know.

[01:05:08.08 - 01:05:22.66]

Um, so I'm hopeful, I'm hopeful that, uh, you know that, that that it will find a way here in a year. And uh, yeah, I'll. I'll do anything, I'll just buy a house next to next to my house. I got this new facility.

1
Speaker 1
[01:05:22.66 - 01:05:27.38]

Just get them a house in the facility, just get a whole, you know, find a little apartment for.

3
Speaker 3
[01:05:27.38 - 01:05:32.46]

Them here, yeah, like, special, special advisor, it sounds like I. It's a really cool relationship.

2
Speaker 2
[01:05:32.46 - 01:05:52.08]

That you have with them and it's awesome. And my mom, it's my mom, too. I mean, my mom's the greatest ever. Um, and you know, between my mom and my dad, um, yeah, I just. And the relationship they have with our kids. I mean, uh, there was. There's so many times. Let me live in right next door to their grandparents.

[01:05:52.30 - 01:06:19.42]

I mean, my kids would would be down there and, uh, you know, my dad would take kids to school, uh, he would go to their games. Um, you know, the the conversations, you know, driving, you know, my son Jack to his baseball games, me and my dad watching baseball games. It's like we were at the Church of Baseball, you know, in the in the summer time, uh, watching watching games on Sunday. That, uh, I mean, that was just just just priceless.

[01:06:19.42 - 01:06:44.90]

I mean, I just got to the point where, you know, I'm, I'm taping those, those. Um, those conversations. That's my favorite part is the ride to the game and the ride back. You know, just talking to, talking to Jack, or to Addie, or to Katie, or to Johnny. Um, I love those conversations. I really don't even care that much what happens during the game. I mean, the best time for me is the ride to and the ride back.

[01:06:44.94 - 01:06:53.98]

And my dad would be right there. Yeah, you know, so often it was just the three of us doing that. It's just it's priceless, it's, it's, it's completely priceless.

[01:06:54.20 - 01:07:02.44]

Well, unless you catch a foul ball at the game, that's probably better, right? That's good, too. Are you still wearing a glove? Oh yeah, absolutely, you gotta wear a glove when you go to MLB.

[01:07:02.46 - 01:07:12.76]

Yeah, yeah, I always wear a glove. I mean, that's like your chances improve dramatically. If you have a glove at a baseball game, there's no question about it.

[01:07:12.76 - 01:07:26.70]

Success is when preparation meets opportunity, right? Yeah, I just got to change. I mean, it's just I've only gotten one foul ball, I've got 22 career foul balls. Like, legitimately in a game, a foul ball, a home run, but it happened like during the game, not batting practice.

[01:07:26.80 - 01:07:36.18]

Boy, I don't count those, so, uh, but and I really, I've only gotten one in the last 10 years. Oh, some people are saying, you've fallen off, yeah, yeah.

[01:07:36.24 - 01:07:54.00]

It's, it's, uh, it's I. I've done it to myself, really. I mean, I get, uh. I got on a lot of games. Bob Melvin's a really good friend of mine. Uh, played on the same, uh uh, uh, you know team. uh, um, wait, what's the American Legion team? When we were in high school?

[01:07:54.08 - 01:08:10.66]

He was a couple of years older, but uh, and he was the star player and I wasn't. But uh, anyway, he's been great to me. And, uh, it just went to the Angels game. I mean, they were great to me, you know, Padres? I got to know some people there. They get me, the tickets, they get me are too good. Oh, they're too good.

[01:08:10.88 - 01:08:24.64]

Yeah, they're in a spot where you just, I mean, your percentage of getting a foul ball is. I mean, you would have to like, you would like have the nets now. Yeah, it would have to hit off and then bounce back, so you got to ask for the worst tickets.

[01:08:24.78 - 01:08:38.26]

I got to get worse. Yeah, I mean, I'm in a suite and the only chance I got is if the if the ball were to come through the suite. You know, just over, just over the screen, are you bringing it up to the suite? Yeah.

[01:08:39.82 - 01:08:46.18]

I'm ready, I'm ready, but I mean, I just got. I'm not putting myself in position. to be in position. Yeah, we got to get.

1
Speaker 1
[01:08:46.18 - 01:08:51.10]

That we got to get that fixed. 22, and then only one in the last 10 years that's fallen off.

[01:08:51.22 - 01:08:51.36]

I know.

2
Speaker 2
[01:08:51.36 - 01:08:55.00]

I gotta get, I gotta get to some better, I gotta get to some better spots. When you said that, you.

3
Speaker 3
[01:08:55.00 - 01:08:58.24]

You tape your conversation. were you being literal? do you? do you record your conversations?

2
Speaker 2
[01:08:58.24 - 01:09:05.22]

That you have with your family. Yeah, yeah, and I. I don't even listen to them right afterwards, but I'm just keeping them, I'm just keeping them doing that.

[01:09:05.46 - 01:09:32.50]

Yeah, I'd say just, I just want them for you know, for you know, maybe, you know, just some some time down the down the road. That those, those, those rides to the car. Listen to them talk about the game. Or, uh, you know what they were doing, or the excitement of, you know, like, uh, that they had. It's the best. Yeah, and I always got to get my I. I now I got to call my dad and I. I got, uh, you know, to be taping it, taping it.

[01:09:32.78 - 01:10:01.80]

Uh, and uh, which is I can do, cause it comes through the comes through the car. But yeah, that was just. This is priceless, those are, that's, that's just priceless moments. And uh, and my mom too, she's, uh, I mean, she's just. They just give this wisdom and and stuff. Um, that if, yeah, if I don't write it down, I'm going to forget it. But, uh, my mom's. My mom actually has given me the best advice I've ever gotten as a player or a coach. And that is, you know, it's one play at a time, one game at a time, one day at a time.

[01:10:02.16 - 01:10:10.98]

And she texts me that every before every single game, they're like the morning of every game. I mean, I need that text. Yeah, there's one play at a time.

3
Speaker 3
[01:10:11.30 - 01:10:21.06]

One game at a time, one day at a time. Yeah, a football question here. Obviously it's new, you guys just got started not too long ago here in L.A. but is there anything that's changed?

[01:10:21.14 - 01:10:25.88]

Anything big that's changed in the NFL from the way that you did business back on the niners.

2
Speaker 2
[01:10:25.88 - 01:10:56.40]

Compared to now, oh, that's a great question. I've been asked it a few times, uh by, uh by lots of people. Um, from from the time I played, from Earth time I coached at the Niners to now. I would say, uh, probably the biggest change is 2013 14. I didn't think the N.FL could get any bigger than it already was. I didn't think it could be any more popular than it than it already was. Or that, you know, um, but it's doubled.

[01:10:56.64 - 01:11:23.10]

It is, it is two X, at least in popularity, and you know, you can see in what the what the the salary cap is twice as much. Um, and just the popularity of the game of football. I mean, it's, it's. It's awesome and right around that time too. Just as a perception of football, too, and the fun that everybody has in the popularity. I saw it firsthand.

[01:11:23.72 - 01:11:59.20]

Um, and back then there was, there was a football, had a little bit of, I mean, had a bit of a crisis back then. You know, with, uh, you know, is it too dangerous, is it too too much of a sport? That, um, you know, that that a mother wouldn't want their their son to play, and, um, you know? And then I went into the college ranks in 2015 and I saw, you know, just growing from there. And everywhere I went around the country. It's like, well, football, football is popular, it's never been as popular, you know? It's like, and it was it just, uh. And and a lot of the rule changes have been good.

[01:11:59.40 - 01:12:26.00]

I mean, it's definitely, it's definitely a safer game. Um, you know, the horse collars out the blows to the head. I mean, some of these rules of engagement, uh, you know, are are so good and so much better. And you know, player safety is the is the most important thing. But I, I just see it coming, coming back and they're doing, they're doing all the right things. And um, you know, the uh uh, commissioner Goodell has done a fabulous job.

[01:12:26.60 - 01:12:44.76]

Uh, Brian Rolap, I don't know if you know him, he's another, another great, great guy at the NFL. Uh, um, you know, very high up. I had a chance to to coach his son Will at Michigan. And, uh, I mean, there's there's this fabulous people that, uh, have made this league and everybody's made it.

[01:12:44.94 - 01:12:49.84]

And, uh, you know, the the players, there's no question they're bigger, stronger.

[01:12:51.58 - 01:12:54.98]

Faster, smarter, no question about that, um.

[01:12:57.24 - 01:13:05.98]

You know, we us older players, guys who played a long time ago, we still maybe say, Are they tougher? are they tougher? I don't know. I have no, you know, it's all subjective.

[01:13:06.20 - 01:13:45.58]

Yeah, uh, we probably aren't as tough as these guys are because they're, you know, they're just so much more harder to break. You know, cause the way they train, you know, and coach. Herbert, uh, and and others, you know this. And just just their, you know, passion, love and desire for the game is is is at an all time high as well. Uh, I'll tell you a quick story. Zion Johnson, who, um, is our starting left guard. He had a root canal. Uh, at two o'clock. I think he got done at like two, two, 30, you know, uh, and was out to practice practice, you know, didn't miss a rep.

[01:13:46.10 - 01:14:01.44]

And then, uh, we do. We did conditioning. At the end, you know, we say, hey, if you're elite condition, go on this sideline. Hey, if you're in good condition, you know, go on sideline B. If you're in average condition, you know, go on sideline C.

[01:14:01.92 - 01:14:17.24]

And, uh, he went to a, and, you know, led the group, led the offensive, uh, excuse me, led the offensive lineman. Uh, it's just like, Okay, who would have done that? Yeah, I mean, I mean, most normal human beings probably would have taken a week off.

[01:14:20.40 - 01:14:44.50]

Most football players, you know, most all football players. Would have at least taken a couple of days, you know, of your root canal, yeah. And, uh, and just about all would have at least taken that practice off. You know, an hour or so after. So, I mean, I can't even say that we were tougher back then. Um, so what's what's really changed? uh, and the equipment's changed, and the equipment is is much better.

[01:14:44.74 - 01:15:05.86]

Uh, but I think, you know, still, the still the same as, uh, is the. The work ethic. And you know, the passion to be good. And you know, get really good at at what you do, get good at football, get good at your craft. So, uh, a couple of things have changed, but I think more things are, more things are the same.

3
Speaker 3
[01:15:06.00 - 01:15:17.42]

Yeah, you left that one small detail about, you know? The game has grown so much since. Like 2015 2016, a little podcast called Part of My Take, started in 2016, came on the scene with the mission to grow the game.

[01:15:17.84 - 01:15:24.56]

How much did that rise? We always say, grow the game, that's the big thing for us. So yeah, good.

[01:15:24.58 - 01:15:28.50]

Well, take a deep, long bow. I believe that there's no doubt, I mean.

2
Speaker 2
[01:15:28.62 - 01:15:36.32]

No, we're on the next play, we're on the next play. You guys are good, yeah, but sometime, you know, you can't say it, but let me allow me to say it.

[01:15:36.42 - 01:16:02.62]

There's no question about it. There's, you know, yeah, like I said, I mean, all of a sudden I got, you know, like, got, uh, got, kind of got. Kind of popular for, you know, people in their late teens or twenties. And and uh, no one knew what football was until part of my take started. I can personally vouch for you, cause I asked, like several people and players, my own players were like, starting to look at me like I was cool.

[01:16:02.76 - 01:16:16.44]

You know, like, I started calling myself Cool gym, like these guys think, cool gym, cool gym now and I I in big part to, uh, to you, we appreciate that, I appreciate, I appreciate, I appreciate you, yeah.

[01:16:16.46 - 01:16:17.72]

I love that, so what?

1
Speaker 1
[01:16:17.72 - 01:16:26.00]

About the new kickoff rule Are you ready for it now? You're getting ready. Player Sam Schwartzstein was the one who came up with this idea with the XFL.

[01:16:27.20 - 01:16:42.98]

Well, man, yeah, he created a creative mind. Sam actually sent me, I asked him, cause, you know, we've known Sam for a really long time and I think he actually helped us. The first time we had you on, UH, back in Michigan in 2017, yeah, so I asked him if he had any training camp. Uh, stories.

[01:16:43.00 - 01:16:59.38]

He said that you have three rules. I don't know if you still have these three rules for training camp, so you can tell me, he said. The first rule was no cupcaking, which is talking with your girl on the phone during bed check. Uh, number two is never cut the chow line and number number three.

2
Speaker 2
[01:16:59.38 - 01:17:09.30]

Is never bare ass another man's stool? Those are, those are. Those are three rules still in existence. Yeah, yeah, I mean, yeah, that's a rule.

[01:17:09.36 - 01:17:10.26]

We had to make that a rule.

[01:17:12.78 - 01:17:14.98]

He also said.

1
Speaker 1
[01:17:14.98 - 01:17:20.32]

That you, you once told him that you, uh, you know, it's amazing about that is, uh, is, uh.

2
Speaker 2
[01:17:20.44 - 01:17:26.00]

That the guys were listening, yeah, but they that that Sam remembers that, oh yeah, that's cool.

[01:17:26.06 - 01:17:30.60]

He told us, Sometimes you, you talk to them and they're like, Are they even listening? yeah.

1
Speaker 1
[01:17:30.68 - 01:17:44.42]

Are they ever getting any of this stuff? He told us a great story that when you first got to Stanford, you you stripped Stanford of all the like, traditions and everything. Cause you're like, I, you guys are losers and I have to figure out what makes you losers, and then we'll build you.

2
Speaker 2
[01:17:44.42 - 01:17:50.26]

Back up, I don't, ever, I don't. I, you know, I can't sound like you might've. And you then built.

1
Speaker 1
[01:17:50.26 - 01:17:55.14]

Them back up, just trying to find the common denominator of what, what is what is wrong with?

2
Speaker 2
[01:17:55.14 - 01:17:57.50]

This, so we have to make, make it better.

[01:17:59.12 - 01:18:19.22]

Yeah, I mean, just just the traditions that weren't helping us win, right? Uh, is the ones I remember, you know, there, there. How is that helping us to do that? Um, and and one of them, I mean, one of them, was like, if they had like, you know, uh, cause I always have this. I mean, there's no fighting.

[01:18:23.62 - 01:18:45.10]

There's penalty to ever, to ever punch another man. But like, I mean, let's think about, I mean, the intelligence of punching a guy who's wearing a helmet, or, you know, a face mask. I mean, you will do nothing to him other than, you know, break your, break your own hand. Yeah, so yeah, that that was real.

[01:18:45.40 - 01:19:36.90]

Then, you know, the ingenious Stanford, uh guys, uh, you know, they decided that they were going to since we. They couldn't fight, you know, and throw punches on the field. That they would take it into the locker room and they would make a circle, and they would make the two guys fight in the locker room. So, uh, yeah, I got wind of that. And and uh, that tradition, done, ceases to exist, you know? And some of the other sophomore things that, uh, you know, that weren't helping us, uh, they had, they, we had. Uh, yeah, that Stanford, uh, the Stanford walk was another one. That, um, yeah, that I I took out was, which was, you know, kind of like, right at the last minute. Before, like, team warmups, you know, we were walking, we're walking kind of like a half a mile in full equipment, and, uh, you know, yeah, let's not do that, yeah.

[01:19:37.18 - 01:19:57.12]

Yeah, how about how do we do this? We make our locker room at the stadium better, you know, and we, you know, we walk over in the in the sweatsuit, kept the walk, you know, we walk them by the the grove there. And, uh, you know, shaded, nice, you know. Leisurely stroll instead of, you know, being in full equipment for for a 15 minute walk.

[01:19:57.28 - 01:20:07.52]

I think that's a better idea. Yeah, I wouldn't want to do that. No, and the other one, I think it changed, too, was, Um, you know, uh, we were playing UCLA, my first game ever at Stanford.

[01:20:07.52 - 01:20:37.16]

And, um, we're on the visitor sideline. Uh, you know, staring right into the sun. It was the least I'm looking at this going. That's about 20 degrees cooler on that other side where the press box is. And we're here in the we're in the sun for, you know, a good solid three quarters, you know, until the sun goes down, until we got any relief. So, uh, well, we couldn't do that because, you know, the band had to be in the opposite side.

[01:20:37.16 - 01:20:53.86]

And uh, and uh, or some, you know, that was the thing. We just moved the here's what we do, we just moved to the band to the other corner and just get us in the shade. Yeah, well, the season ticket holders, they're going to love having their own team on their sideline.

[01:20:54.02 - 01:21:04.76]

You know, I love winning football. Yeah, those were, those are the traditions. I remember some of the some of the silly, there was some silly stuff, and then there was some just some good, practical stuff to.

1
Speaker 1
[01:21:04.80 - 01:21:15.86]

To try to help us win. Quick break from coach Harbaugh. To talk to you about coffee, still blue coffee, you got to get it, it's the best it is. Uh, we have cold brew.
